Welcome to From Complex to Queens, Home Run Applesauce’s podcast focusing on the Mets’ minor league system.
With Steve set to resume hosting duties for the next couple weeks. promote-extend-trade returns to a distininctly historical slant, as Ken and Lukas discuss a few of the better multi-sport baseball players. After that, it’s full-on draft time, with three new mock drafts and an updated top-500 to discuss. Carson Benge (one of Ken’s guys) remains the favorite choice, while mocked picks Christian Moore and Brody Brecht get less rave reviews.
Down on the farm, the entire system seems on track to finish the week 3-3 (pending the result of Binghamton’s game). There’s more bad news and performances for most of the upper minors hitters, but some really interesting and encouraging weeks from a lot of the younger bats. Meanwhile the arms - led by Brandon Sproat, who seems on the fast track to top-100 / top-50 lists - continue to excel.
