この話をすると、羨望のあまり長大息を漏らした男があった。菱山修三という詩人である。

その詩人が、自動車事故にあった。

墓参りから帰ってくると、家に団子がある。誰が持ってきたかわからない。

あとで食べようと夕飯を済まし、さて寝ようと準備をしていると、雨戸を叩くものがあった。

Later, Yoemon gets a beautiful wife, but they die one after another in mysterious ways.

The sixth wife died at the age of thirteen, after giving birth to his daughter Kiku.

Yoemon gets a son-in-law for Kiku and tries to retire, but Kiku also falls ill with a mysterious disease.
