Today's podcast is a super special treat. I had the honor of interviewing Liz Neves, a beautiful herbalist and healer, dream guide, reiki practitioner, living and teaching in Lenapehoking (mainly Brooklyn, NY). She's also the author of Northeast Medicinal Plants: Identify Harvest and use 111 Wild Herbs for Health and Wellness (Timber Press)., as well as being a woman offering a really cool new program called INFUSE. Her classes are inspired by herbalism, earth-based spirituality, and ancient wisdom teachings. Her herbalist’s path is led by her experiences and guidance from dreams. Liz believes we learn our greatest lessons directly from the natural world, from dreams, from the plants, and from our own internal guidance.
This interview with Liz felt healing in and of itself. We discuss favorite herbs, some favorite people and teachers, and some favorite resources for enhancing your own education. We discuss what it’s like to really explore your own connection to plants, to place, and two each other. She even guides us on a fantastic meditation (37:00) and you're definitely gonna want to tune in for that.
Liz shares some wonderful resources she uses to keep tabs on which of our plant friends are struggling & thriving, where, and when. Check the end of these show notes for links.
