  • Ep. 294: 11 Steps of the Weekly Review

Are you among those who have not yet made the review a habit? Experience what David Allen calls the "critical success factor" with GTD, by going through a complete GTD Weekly Review. You'll experience all 11 steps of the process, with helpful discussion along the way. The silent time to work on each step is edited out, so you can pause the recording on any step for as long as you choose. For the clarifying diagram, you may find it useful to have the GTD Methodology Guides handy, from the top of the Tools and Templates section of the Document Library. If you find that your review gets bogged down with a backlog of unclarified inputs, you can handle that with help from the Dealing with Backlog recording.

You can watch a video version of this Weekly Review from September 2024 at GTD Connect®.

  • Ep. 293: Slice of GTD Life with Jens

Jens Hynne Petersen is a longtime GTD enthusiast. He recaps his GTD journey, with the 2019 GTD Summit a highlight. He has been interested in paper systems, but discusses his preference for using a digital tool. His participation in the GTD community in Europe grew into a role as one of the primary organizers of what has become an annual event -- a GTD Summer Camp. It's a weekend event held near Copenhagen, Denmark that has a remarkably devoted core of repeating attendees. From the description Jens gives, and the pictures from the 2024 Summer Camp, you'll understand why so many look forward to camp every year.

  • Ep. 290: Merry Christmas Everyone

Marcus Ramtohul is a musician, actor, model, husband, father, and . . . a GTD trainer! You'll hear him describe his move from a paper-based system to digital, as his life and responsibilities grew more complex in the last ten years. His creativity and humor shine through as he describes encouraging family and colleagues to adopt any of the GTD best practices. He talks about the subtlety of correctly defining next actions, assigning contexts, his customized contexts, and much more.

You can find out more about Marcus, including his band and TV show, on his website.

His band Andy and the Odd Socks have just released BBC Children In Need's first ever Christmas charity single - a cover of "Merry Christmas Everyone" by Shakin' Stevens. And Shaky himself even features in the music video! You can buy the song here. A minimum of 40p from every download goes directly to the Children In Need charity and the money raised can help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the UK.

If you are in the UK you can watch the Andy and the Band Christmas special on BBC iPlayer and on CBBC on Christmas Day.

  • Ep. 289: Slice of GTD Life with Jerry Kolber

Jerry Kolber really knows his GTD. He began his journey with a paper system, then was an early adopter of the Palm Pilot and later Palm devices, using Life Balance. He has steadily upgraded his system with newer apps, most recently OmniFocus and Things. With each of these tools, he has maintained a deep commitment to refining his approach to productivity and mindfulness. That has helped with his busy career in media production, including work on groundbreaking shows like "Sex and the City," "Queer Eye," and as the Emmy-nominated creator of "Brain Games" and "Brainchild." You can read his bio and find out more about his projects on the Atomic Entertainment website.
