  • Ep. 192 - Due to Several Factors...

Hey Sox fans! Welcome back to off-season Chicago White Sox chatter. Due to 'several factors' the White Sox have cancelled SoxFest. The last time there was a January fan convention was in 2020. What were the several factors? Is the front office scared of the backlash that they will receive due to the disappointing and embarrassing season? Do Sox brass just not have the stomach to handle the public criticism after the Sox turned in one of the most dejecting seasons in franchise history? There will be no SoxFest but according to NBC Sports Chicago, Ozzie Guillen will be interviewed for the open managerial position. Houston Astros bench coach, Joe Espada, is also rumored to be not only in the running still but is expected to be hired as the next White Sox manager. We also talk MLB playoffs and express our envy over the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Thank you for the continued support, Go Sox.

  • Ep. 191 - White Sox Rumors, Lies & Hearsay

Hey Sox fans! The MLB playoffs are going strong but the Chicago White Sox have been dormant for quite some time. Despite the on field inactivity, the off-season White Sox rumor mill is churning and there are no shortage of threads to follow. Is Jose Abreu going to the Cubs? Are Andrew Vaughn and Dylan Cease untouchable? Would the Sox actually trade Lucas Giolito or Tim Anderson? The White Sox managerial search has also brought in a lot of hearsay and fake news. Don't worry Sox fans, it's only the beginning to a wild, rumor-filled few months. We also talk playoffs, Bryce Harper/Manny Machado and why rooting for the Cleveland Guardians is problematic. Thank you for the continued support, Go Sox!

  • Ep. 190 - Jerry Reinsdorf Doesn't Care About Your Feelings

Hey Sox fans! The 2022 Chicago White Sox season is over and it was a memorable year for all the wrong reasons. We tried to highlight the handful of best moments but definitely magnified the worst parts. Tony La Russa will not be managing the White Sox in 2023 and Rick Hahn said that he'll be heading up the managerial search but that it will also be a collective effort. What are the oddsmakers saying about who will be the next White Sox manager? Is Ozzie Guillen really the favorite? What kind of manager are we looking for and are there specific names that draw intrigue? During his press conference, Hahn also was non-committal on Jose Abreu's future and reports have surfaced that the White Sox will part ways will Abreu this off-season. Does letting Abreu walk make sense? Will there be additional members of the core six to also leave? Thank you for the continued support. Find the podcast everywhere and on YouTube. Go Sox.

  • Ep. 189 - Wanted: A Real Managerial Search

Hey Sox fans! The Chicago White Sox (79-80) just completed their final road series of the season as they took two of three from the San Diego Padres. Davis Martin and Lance Lynn had stellar outings for the Sox and Elvis Andrus provided the offense. The big news revolving around the Chicago White Sox is the possible retirement announcement by Tony La Russa. Bob Nightengale, from USA Today, said in a recent article that Tony La Russa will indeed announce his retirement and the Chicago White Sox will be looking for their fourth manager in eight seasons. The list of potential names is long: Bruce Bochy, Joe Espada, Carlos Beltran, and even Miguel Cairo to name a few. Others, like Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune, have hinted at AJ Pierzynski or Ozzie Guillen being possible options. We are hoping the White Sox organization performs a serious managerial search this time around as they find a new voice and leader for, what should be, a very talented group of players in 2023.

  • Ep. 188 - Deep Divide

Hey Sox fans!  The Chicago White Sox (76-77) just finished up a six game homestand where they lost every single game. That's right... The White Sox were swept by the Cleveland Guardians then were swept by the last place Detroit Tigers. After the White Sox lost the first game of the Cleveland series, it appeared as if the team completely gave up. Poor baseball and poor results have the Sox rummaging for 2nd place in a division they won comfortably just one year ago. Tony La Russa will not return this season as manager due to doctors order.. but what about next season? The Cleveland Guardians have won the AL Central and completely rubbed it in the faces of the White Sox organization. Do Sox players even care? What will the front office do to change course and get the White Sox back on track? There are only nine games left in the season then change must occur if the White Sox want to return to their winning ways.

  • Ep. 187 - It's Now or Never

Hey Sox fans! The Chicago White Sox (76-71) just won a series against the Detroit Tigers by clubbing three home runs and scoring eleven runs. Andrew Vaughn leads the team with seventeen home runs as he hit his first career grand slam on Sunday. The White Sox dealt with some inconsistent offensive production this past week, while also facing more injuries. No final decision has been made on Tony La Russa as Miguel Cairo continues to get the job done in his absence. While the Sox were battling Detroit, we were all following the Minnesota/Cleveland series. Praying for Minnesota to help us out is why games in April and May do indeed matter. The White Sox are 3.5 games back in the AL Central and begin the biggest series of the season on Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians. Go Sox!

  • Ep. 186 - Place of Pleasure & Joy

Hey Sox fans! The Chicago White Sox (72-69) just wrapped up a seven game road trip on the West coast. The Sox took 2-of-3 in Seattle and took 3-of-4 from the Athletics IN OAKLAND. Despite the loss in the series finale, the trip was a success and the Sox are two and a half games back in the AL Central. Miguel Cairo is still leading the Sox and the team has responded well. The Sox are (9-4) with a +32 run differential under Miguel Cairo. Eloy Jimenez, Elvis Andrus and AJ Pollock had big weeks offensively. Solid pitching from Cease, Lynn and the bullpen have helped the White Sox stay hot. After an off day on Monday, the Sox have a two game series against the Colorado Rockies then a makeup game in Cleveland before a three game series against the Tigers in Detroit. Thank you for the continued support, Go Sox!

  • Ep. 185 - Miguel Cairo: Acting Manager

Hey Sox fans! The Chicago White Sox (67-67) just won a series against the Minnesota Twins and history was almost made by Dylan Cease. The White Sox have played the last six games without Tony La Russa as their manger. He has stepped away indefinitely due to medical issues. Bench coach, Miguel Cairo, has taken over and the team has appeared to respond in a positive way. Several players have talked about the new brand of baseball and attitude that has already emerged. The Sox have cut into Cleveland's AL Central lead and are within striking distance. Now, the White Sox head out west to take on the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics. Can this new shift in energy be sustained? All we know is that the Sox are playing better baseball and it couldn't come at a better time. Thank you for the continued support, Go Sox!

  • Ep. 184 - How? Why? Now what?

The Chicago White Sox (63-65) were just swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks. In a season full of disappointments, this past weekend marked a new low for the floundering Sox. More injuries continue to pile up without the answers to how this continues to happen. Underperforming and maybe not caring have become two key elements to this White Sox team. Where's the accountability and does Tony La Russa have control over what's going on? There are 34 games left in the season and the White Sox trail the Cleveland Guardians by 5 games. If the Sox still feel like they have a chance to make a run at defending their AL Central crown, then changes need to happen immediately.

  • Ep. 183 - Grinder Rule No. 1: Win. Or die trying.

Hey Sox fans! The Chicago White Sox (62-59) are coming off a weekend where they split two games with the Cleveland Guardians and had the series finale postponed due to rain. The Sox remain two and half games back in the AL Central. The two games that they did play against Cleveland had no shortage of drama. Intentional walks with two strikes, failure to score a runner from third with nobody out, Johnny Cueto masterpiece, Joe McEwing rolling the dice and Yasmani Grandal getting hurt. The White Sox played tough against Houston until they didn't. What's going on with Giolito and can it be corrected? The Sox have a makeup game with Kansas City then three in Baltimore before returning home to face the Arizona Diamondbacks. Thank you for the continued support, Go Sox!
