She is an outspoken advocate for everyone in the adoption constellation (or 'triad', more on that in the episode), for victims of human trafficking, adoptees, adoptive parents and most prominently, birthmothers. 16 years ago Ashley became a birthmother when she placed her son for adoption and as you'll hear in the episode today, that moment radically changed her life.
