Last night, after dinner, I was having a conversation with Braxton about the mind.
For a ten year old, he is amazing in my eyes because he is so interested in learning about concepts like mindset and theater of the mind.
Anyways, I told him that the mind works much the same as the belt system in martial arts. We all start out as white belts and then it's up to us, as individuals, to advance up the ranks.
Each day and each week, we are given experiences in the form of mental and spiritual resistance training that can add another stripe to our mental belt.
Unfortunately, most people shrink away from these types of resistance training sessions because they feel like a struggle. And that's because they are a struggle, but struggling is a good thing! That is where learning and growth comes from.
In today's episode, I discuss what each level of belt looks like in terms of learning, awareness, mindset and approach. I close out with sharing some concepts with you that have worked for me and that will get you to begin to think differently. As you advance up the ranks, you will be faced with more advanced 'opponents', and to eventually beat those opponents, you wll have to use a different line of thought.
Let me know any questions and don't forget to leave a review if you haven't already, it helps the show out a lot! Thanks in advance!
Be Unconventional,
Kyle Newell aka Panda Man
P.S. - If you have never had a Coach but you've been curious, then shoot me a text. I am happy to discuss how it works and what you would be looking to get out of the experience. And I will be the first and fastest one to tell you if it's not a good fit at this point. Coaching is invaluable if the student is ready. Here's my cell, feel free to text me: 908-229-6666
