Dads have been depicted and programmed into our minds as goofy, dufus-like characters in many of history's top sitcoms; think of Homer Simpson and Al Bundy.

Ironically, I believe that becoming a strong dad starts with developing a deeper understanding of the feminine energy.

This week I turned 45 and to bring in this big year, I planned a psylocibin trip and what a trip it was!

A key concept that really struck home during my trip was that faith and fear cannot co-exist. It's simply impossible.

How much fear are you operating from and with? You can either be in a primal or a powerful state. Primal is survival and makes you feel bad.

Powerful is thriving and makes you feel good.

The more you feel a primal state, the more that you are operating out of fear.

And remember, every limiting belief that you have is simply based in a decision that you made around that topic at some point. Simply change the decision and then focus on being in a powerful state more often than a primal state.

This past weekend, I stopped to witness an inspiring action taken by a lady.

She was at the front steps of my gym, Newell Strength.

She proceeded to hit a calisthenics workout, all on her own, with modified pushups and squats.

I don't believe she had an appointment, because the gym was closed at the time.

And to be honest, I was not in the talkative type of mood, so I didn't stop to say hello.

This lady found the inspiration to change her environment and go to a gym, a gym that was closed, because she probably found inspiration there, at our front steps.

She was putting in the work, when no one was looking.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to climb the mountain of fitness when you have a long way to go? It's damn hard, and that is why people like her are always the ones that inspire me most.

Wherever you are at in life, no matter what the current obstacle is, just take one step towards victory. That's it.

I had a rude awakening this past week and it was a great thing!

As I found myself trying to apply old ways and old patterns to my current knee rehab, I got smacked down in more ways than one.

There are lessons I am supposed to learn from this experience and I continued on the old path with my old ways, I would fail to reap the benefits of those lessons.

Tough stuff is going to happen to us in life.

I have believed forever that no matter if we had any hand in the event, we can always be in control because we can always control our attitude.

I just had my third knee surgery, while also knowing that I will have another, more extensive fourth surgery in 4-5 months.

It's a blessing because I believe it's a blessing.
