Not a great spectacle at the MCG to finish the season against Fremantle, so we spent the minimum time required putting the final game to bed.
But there was plenty to be excited about elsewhere and we spent time looking at some of the more positive news around the traps including:
* A preview to the weekend’s big Box Hill final featuring great friend of the Insiders, Ed Sill (@ed_sill);
* A look ahead to the AFLW season with a special appearance from Soaring to New Heights pod host, Liam;
* Players that we have been linked to in the media;
* The AFL Awards night including the live announcement of James SIcily making the AA Team;
* And plenty more…

Not the performance Hawthorn fans were hoping for to finish the 2023 season, but one that shone a light on some of the key requirements heading into the off-season.
It was a two man crew to break down the loss to Fremantle, with Ash and Danny discussing a range of topics including:
* The conundrum on the wing;
* Our captain and vice-captain stepping up when others didn’t;
* An incredibly dysfunctional forward line;
* A few bright sparks;
* Baffling selection decisions;
* and heaps more…
What did you think Hawks fans? Did we go too hard or not hard enough?

Karl Amon joined HI’s Ashley Browne after Hawthorn’s 37-point loss against Freo at the MCG this afternoon.
Amon — who was one of Hawthorn’s better performers on the day with 23 disposals and a booming goal from outside 50 — reflected on his “up and down” first year at the club and the Hawks encouraging end to the year.
He also gave us his PCM prediction, lavished praise on the midfield group that will propel us forward, and gave us an insight into his post-season plans.
Listen above and don’t forget to share with your Hawthorn loving mates to help grow our brown and gold community.

It wasn’t the prettiest display against the Demons but there was plenty to be happy about and we spent some time in our Safe Space unpacking the game at the MCG.

* Trades, free agents, draft picks and more silly season preparations;
* Box Hill and their game on the weekend;
* DGB, Henry Hustwaite and Finn Maginness;
* Jai and Will making the 22Under22;
* And plenty more…

It may not have been the ideal scoreline to leave the MCG with, but overall it was a decent enough performance from the youngest team in the whole competition
Andrew was back to join Danny lead by Ash to unpack the glorious warm day at the MCG including:
* Henry Hustwaite’s debut;
* Our midfield dominance minus Jai Newcombe - featuring James Worpel and Conor Nash and ;
* Ned Reeves claiming a W agains Max Gawn;
* DGB continuing to improve;
* Connor Macdonald, Josh Weddle and ceilings;
* and plenty, plenty more…

Up and about after back to back wins, the Hawks Insiders discussed what they liked out of the victory against the Bulldogs (hint: there was plenty) and looked forward to the match against the Dees.

Well well, who saw this one coming? The Hawks followed up a convincing win against Premiership favourites Collingwood with a nail-biting 3 point win over the finals chasing Western Bulldogs at UTAS Stadium.
Insiders hosts Danny and Darren broke down the impressive performance player by player, and focus on some of the many positives, including:
* Jai Newcombe’s career game in his 50th AFL appearance;
* The excitement and ability to break open games that Will Day brings;
* The midfield combination of James Worpel, the aforementioned Newcombe and Day and Conor Nash;
* Ned Reeves’ recent performances as first ruck;
* Jacob Koschitzke’s breakout performance and his 5 contested marks;
* The continued emergence of Josh Ward, Connor Macdonald, Josh Weddle and Bailey Macdonald;
* and plenty, plenty more…

Despite our esteemed leader, Ash Browne believing that he could keep the Safe Space to 45 minutes this week, the conversation was hot and the opinions were flying.
The Insiders (minus a couple of heavyweights) and some friends ensuring a 45 minute podcast lasted at least an hour and ten. We discussed:
* The good and the good of the win over the Pies;
* The excitement that our midfield provides and the impact the three pronged key forward set up had on our forward structure;
* The media love in on the Hawks post match;
* A brief look ahead to the match against the Dogs;
* Contract status for James Worpel, Tyler Brockman and those who could be in trouble;
* and plenty more…
It seems like a weekly comment, but it is always great to have so much listener involvement, with regulars jumping on to talk and plenty of questions and comments in the chat.
Thank you as always, for your involvement and support.

The lid was well and truly off as our Insiders reveled in the huge win against the league leading Magpies.
Mitchell’s men came flying out of the blocks and never looked back, halting a few Collingwood momentum surges on their way to an incredibly impressive 32 point victory.
The team touched on a number of positives including:
* an 18-3 centre clearance slaughtering by the Hawthorn midfield;
* captain fantastic James Sicily, his read hot start and his season as a whole;
* just how good Will Day really is;
* how the inclusions of Jacob Koschitzke and Brandon Ryan transformed the forward structure;
* the importance of a fit and firing Jack Scrimshaw;
* bounce back games for Connor Macdonald and Josh Ward;
* and plenty, plenty more…
