Happy Thanksgiving Week! Of course, I had to be cliche and talk about Gratitude. However, I talk about gratitude but with a spin. Gratitude is the social glue for our relationships and environments. It increases our overall well-being and functioning when we embody this feeling. I have also found that we use gratitude as a way to escape pain or others' pain. We don’t always feel gratitude but when we do, it can be overwhelming. There are three main ways we experience gratitude:
Emotion-a more temporary feeling of gratitude that one may feel after receiving a gift or a favor
Affective trait- our overall tendency to have a grateful disposition
Mood- daily fluctuations in overall gratitude
Find thankfulness in your even if things aren't going well right now. Also, give yourself permission to feel whatever you need too. Enjoy the holidays and I will see you back next week!
