Listen in as Pam and Michelle answer your personal health questions. It's YOUR time on HER Radio. Be a part of the show... send your comments and ask your questions by email, [email protected]. It's time to Ask HER. Today, on HER Radio you wanted to know: How do I know if my IUD accidentally got moved around? It is common for the IUD to slip down from your uterus during menstrual cycles. In rare cases it can slip. Your doctor will check it during regular visits. It may slip out on a pad or a tampon. If you feel it against your cervix, see your doctor. What is the ideal temperature for your home? Men like a cold, women like it warm. Scientists found that 68 degrees help for sleeping. Older people don't self-regulate their temperature very well, so be conscientious when you have an older person in your home. Seventy-two is a good standard for daytime. Setting your thermostat to 78 in summer can help put less stress on the power grid. How can I motivate myself to go to the gym regularly? Remember your goal. Visualize your workout. Get a workout buddy. Stay consistent. Buy cute workout clothes. Take classes. If you have a personal health question that you want answered, Pam and Michelle encourage you to send them in to [email protected].

  • Is Tea Bad for You?
Tea is delicious but is it bad for you? Some teas are better for your body than others. The ideal tea is loose leaf. If you don't have the option of loose leaf tea, look for something that isn't in a paper tea pouch. A cloth bag is best. Sometimes paper pouches are treated with a chemical to prevent tearing. Ingesting that chemical over a lifetime can be detrimental to your health. Organic teas typically don't have that chemically treated pouch. Expect to pay a little more for quality. Look for a reputable source for your tea. Black tea has more time to absorb heavy metals during the growth process. Green tea, white tea and fruit teas are a smarter choice. Don't let your tea steep longer than three minutes. Listen in as chef Abbie Gellman talks tea.

Listen in as Pam and Michelle answer your personal health questions. It's YOUR time on HER Radio. Be a part of the show... send your comments and ask your questions by email, [email protected]. It's time to Ask HER. Today, on HER Radio you wanted to know: What causes anemia in women and how can I treat it? Anemia is commonly caused by blood loss from mestruation. Heavy periods cause issues. It's caused by diet, strange diseases and infections. High level endurance training sometimes results in anemia. Your bone marrow needs iron to create hemoglobin. Hemoglobin carries oxygen throughout your body. Make some changes to your diet by cutting back on caffeine, increasing your protein and eating dark, leafy greens. You may need to take supplements. You have to know what kind of anemia you have and treat accordingly. Can a woman get pregnant naturally at 46? The chance of having a baby at 46 without intervention is less than one percent. This doesn't take fertility drugs into account. Your body will have fewer eggs and may present risks to yourself and the fetus after age 40. Speak with your doctor. What alternative therapies can be used to treat migraines? A migraine gives a strong pulsating sensation in part of the head or extreme throbbing all over the head. There's nausea, vomiting and light sensitivity. It can last hours to days. Acupuncture, biofeedback and cognitive behavioral therapy may help. Massage therapy has worked.
