  • Youth Pastor Attempts To Kill 5 Kids & Wife Before Burning House Down
In a shocking revelation, Matthew Richards, a 41-year-old youth pastor from Shawnee, Kansas, is facing grave charges of attempting to kill his wife, five children, and committing arson at his own residence. Authorities have detailed the alleged events that transpired on the early hours of September 16.

     The Chilling Accusation
According to the Shawnee Police Department, on September 16, firefighters and police officers arrived at Richards' residence on Goode Drive at approximately 3:47 a.m. This was in response to alarming reports of a disturbance paired with a fire. On inspection, a fire was identified in the basement and promptly doused by the responding firefighters.

Subsequent investigations painted a horrifying scene. All members of the family, including Richards’ wife, Stephanie, their 19-year-old child, and four younger children, sustained laceration injuries, with the police noting the injuries were of "varying degrees." In connection with this, Richards now stands charged with five counts of attempted premeditated first-degree murder and an additional count of aggravated arson with the risk of causing bodily harm.

Both Richards and the injured family members were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Richards: The Man Behind the Accusation
Richards, a key figure at the Crossroads Christian Church since August 2016, is described on the church's website as “a big kid who loves teaching little kids about Jesus.” The biography goes on to provide insights into his personal life, highlighting his marriage with Stephanie since 2003 and their five children. They uphold three cardinal family rules: 1. Love God, 2. Love People, and 3. Love Sports, with particular affection for the Jayhawks and Sporting KC.

However, in the wake of these serious allegations, there's a palpable dissonance between the family-oriented, religious figure depicted in his biography and the grim charges he currently faces.

     Church's Response to the Incident
The gravity of the situation did not go unnoticed by the senior leadership of Crossroads Christian Church. Senior Pastor Kurt Witten took to an official platform on the very day of the incident, stating, "We are aware of the situation involving our Children’s Pastor, Matt Richards." He further noted the church's intention to gather more information and assured the congregation and community of a comprehensive statement in due course. Pastor Witten urged for respect considering the ongoing nature of the investigation and solicited prayers for the beleaguered Richards family.

     Ongoing Investigation
Authorities remain committed to piecing together the exact sequence of events leading up to that fateful morning. As the investigation delves deeper, Richards is held on a $5 million bond, reflecting the severity of the accusations against him.

The unfolding of these events has understandably left the Shawnee community in a state of shock. Such incidents remind us that appearances can be deceptive, and even the most unsuspecting individuals can harbor dark secrets. As the investigation progresses, the community and the church await clarity on this tragic incident, hoping for justice and healing for all those involved.

In these testing times, Shawnee unites, with many focusing on supporting the Richards family and praying for their speedy recovery. It remains essential to respect the ongoing investigation, allowing authorities to carry out their duties in the pursuit of the truth.

  • What Was Alleged Gilgo Beach Murderer Rex Heuermann Like To Work With?
The New York Post recently reported that in the early hours of a seemingly ordinary Friday morning on July 14, real estate agent Jeffrey St. Arromand's daily routine was abruptly shattered by a phone call that sent shockwaves through his world. The voice on the other end of the line was one of his clients, her voice shaking, breathless, and scared. The news had just broken that the notorious Gilgo Beach serial killer, who had evaded capture for over a decade, had been arrested. The suspect was Rex Heuermann, an architect she had worked closely with over the past year on a Brooklyn brownstone project.

Jeffrey, of Serhant, vividly recalled his interactions with Heuermann, yet it was his client's chilling experiences with Heuermann that drew a cold veil of shock over their past professional associations. Speaking anonymously, she recounted her baffling encounters with Heuermann, which dated back to 2002 when she had purchased her Crown Heights home. Fast-forward two decades later, in 2022, Heuermann played a significant role in renovating her property as the expeditor and architect, which was ultimately sold.

"She drove him home once because she relocated to Long Island," St. Arromand told The Post, hinting at a journey along a "dark and desolate." Reflecting on that eerie drive home, the client revealed a haunting conversation that had taken place between them. "At one point on the drive, we talked about the Gilgo Beach murders — we even discussed the burlap and why someone would use that. In retrospect, thinking about that conversation, it's just bone-chilling," she confessed.

She noted his peculiar behavior as she delved further into her interactions with Heuermann during the renovation. "Throughout the transaction, he was becoming very difficult to work with, even belligerent sometimes. He was constantly arguing with the plumber on the job and questioning his work. Just very odd behavior," she said. "For some reason, in this transaction, he would constantly say, 'I'm not doing anything to get a fine or open an investigation of my license.'"

After the finalization of the property sale, her distaste for Heuermann had grown so much that she preferred him not to attend the closing. “When we ultimately were able to close on the property, I had such a bad experience with Rex that I told him not to attend the closing,” she said. Regardless, he was still owed a balance of payment and made a separate trip to the attorney's office to pick it up. "Apparently he had some disagreement with one of the women associates at the firm. This associate was so uncomfortable with her exchange with Rex that she refused to be in the office when he picked up the check. Ultimately the partner at the firm gave the check to Rex when he arrived with his daughter," she explained.

St. Arromand shared that the property was eventually sold to a celebrity buyer whose identity remains a secret. Despite the troubling interactions with Heuermann, his client had always spoken highly of his work. “She’s someone that really supported this guy,” St. Arromand expressed. "She needed the weekend just to decompress," he added, as she grappled with the shocking revelation of Heuermann's arrest.

The Friday discovery marked a shocking turn of events, leaving St. Arromand and his client to grapple with the chilling reality that a man they thought they knew well could be capable of such horrendous acts. This narrative is a sobering reminder of how little we might know about those we interact with daily and the mysteries that might lurk beneath the surface.

  • Reading Of Kouri Richins' Alleged Witness Tampering Letter
The unraveling tale of Kouri Richins, a Kamas mother of three accused of fatally poisoning her husband, Eric Richins, and subsequently writing a children's book about grieving, has taken another shocking turn. The Summit County Attorney's Office has recently filed a motion to prevent Richins from communicating with her immediate family, suggesting she's attempting to manipulate them into lying for her defense.

On September 14, a search of Richins’ jail cell in the Summit County Jail, where she’s held without bail facing aggravated murder and drug charges, led to a startling discovery. Hidden inside a book, deputies found a six-page letter apparently written by Kouri to her mother, Lisa Darden. This letter's initial three pages contained directives for Lisa to relay to Ronney Darden, Kouri's brother.

"Reword this however he needs to, to make the point," she emphatically wrote. "Just include it all."

Within the contents of this letter, Kouri seemingly attempts to craft a narrative for her defense. She urges Ronney to inform her defense attorney, Skye Lazaro, of a supposed incident wherein Eric procured drugs, including fentanyl, from a ranch in Mexico. Further, she alleges Eric forced her to transport drugs during their travels, suggesting a plot to frame her if they were caught. Moreover, Kouri claims that Ronney possesses text messages from Eric that revolve around “getting high.”

"Tell him I need him to do this," she implored her mother. "Bring me home and we will get those damn b- - - - - -."

However, in a candid conversation with KPCW, Ronney stated he was unaware of the existence of the controversial letter. While admitting to knowing about Eric's marijuana habits, he firmly declared, “There's no reason to testify falsely—[Kouri] didn't do anything.”

The intrigue doesn’t stop there. The letter unveils Kouri’s wish for her mother to disseminate pictures of Eric’s sister's daughters to various media entities. It appears that Kouri wanted to shift public sentiment, noting that she had friends scheduled to appear on Good Morning America. Coordinated by Lazaro, these friends were poised to discuss Eric’s alleged pill consumption and portray his sisters as envious adversaries.

Kouri’s perspective? “This comes down to jealousy, money, and Eric’s partying that they don’t want to acknowledge and sadly an accidental overdose,” she alleged.

As the motion reveals, another twist arose: prosecutors highlight an alleged video call between Kouri and Lisa on September 13. During the call, Kouri reportedly showed her mother another letter. The whereabouts of this letter remain unknown, with prosecutors speculating, “There is a strong inference that the September 13, 2023 letter was destroyed or flushed.”

Lazaro’s response was swift. Accusing the prosecutors of violating a gag order, she vehemently objected to the public disclosure of the September 14 letter. To Lazaro, this move by the state felt akin to a direct leak to the media. She emphasized the envelope that contained the letter was marked "Skye Lazaro (Attorney privilege)", hinting at a potentially illicit search by the state. The defense claims that by unveiling the letter, the prosecutors aimed to sway public perception, further pointing out past instances where the state inadvertently shared Kouri’s sensitive information.

The defense’s demands are clear: Enforce the gag order, potentially remove the letter from the docket, and hold the state in contempt of court.

Additionally, concerns about Kouri’s health have emerged. On September 12, just days before the cell search, she was hospitalized. The reason remains undisclosed, but according to Ronney, a medication mix-up in the Summit County Jail led to her health scare.

With the court recently issuing subpoenas for Kouri's medical records and the jail's surveillance footage, the next stages of this trial promise more revelations. Kouri Richins' next court appearance is slated for November 3, potentially setting the stage for a preliminary hearing.

As this engrossing case continues, the stakes for all involved escalate. The quest for truth amidst a web of allegations, potential manipulations, and heartfelt emotions ensures that Summit County's trial remains under a relentless spotlight..

  • The Cold Case of Debbie Lynn Randall Finally Solved After 50 Years
For five long decades, the tragic tale of Debbie Lynn Randall's brutal rape and murder has haunted the Marietta community of Georgia. On that ill-fated day in mid-January 1972, a family was shattered and a community forever scarred. The nine-year-old disappeared, leading thousands to rally together, united in their determination to find her. Sixteen days later, their worst fears were realized when Debbie's raped and strangled body was discovered near Windy Hill and Powers Ferry Road intersection.

Fast forward to 2022, the wheels of justice began turning once more, when a piece of cloth recovered from the crime scene was reanalyzed due to increased funding for DNA testing. The esteemed DNA Labs International carried out meticulous testing, and against all odds, a potential match for the killer emerged.

The identified suspect was William Rose, a man who remarkably evaded police radar during the initial investigations. But fate had another twist in store; William Rose, who was a mere 24 years old at the time of Debbie's murder, took his own life in 1974, just two years after committing the heinous act. If alive today, he would be around 75.

Tragically, Debbie's parents never lived to see this breakthrough. Her mother succumbed to leukemia in 2018, and her father passed away in the subsequent year. But Melvin Randall, Debbie’s tenacious brother, was present at the news conference to confront the dark past and hopefully find some closure.

"My family appreciates everything they’ve done - all the time and the effort to bring closure," an emotional Mr. Randall stated. His poignant words echoed the pain of countless families who've been robbed of their loved ones, "I wish my mother was here, but I know she knows in heaven that it’s finally over."

That fateful evening, Debbie had accompanied her stepfather to the laundromat. However, when her mother arrived around 8:30 pm, worried over her prolonged absence, the young girl was nowhere to be found. All that remained was spilled laundry detergent, and reports of a dark pickup truck speeding away.

Ron Alter, a dedicated cold case investigator with the district attorney’s office, delved deep into Rose's past. It emerged that while he didn’t reside in Marietta, Rose likely had family connections there. "If he drove by, I’m sure he saw her. I believe that was a crime of opportunity. He saw her by herself and abducted her," speculated Mr. Alter.

With prior alcohol-related arrests, the reason behind Rose's subsequent suicide remains a point of debate. According to Mr. Alter, Rose might have been overwhelmed by guilt or the looming threat of incarceration.

The resolution of this cold case shines a light on the relentless advances in forensic technology. Cobb County District Attorney Flynn Broady praised these developments, emphasizing, "It may take us some time, but with the new technologies emerging every day, we’re committed to solving our cold cases, ensuring justice is served."

For Melvin Randall, this resolution, while bringing clarity, also offers a chance at personal healing. Overwhelmed but resilient, he revealed his journey towards forgiveness. "I learned over the years that it does you no good to hate or hold grudges."

The story of Debbie Lynn Randall serves as a poignant reminder: time might pass, but the quest for justice never truly fades. With technology's ever-advancing hand and the perseverance of those committed to the truth, hope remains alive for countless unsolved cases worldwide.

  • Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt's Court Hearing Delayed
The anticipated bail hearing for Ruby Franke, 41, and Jodi Hildebrandt, 54, originally set for Monday, was unexpectedly postponed just an hour before it was due to start. As the cloud of allegations surrounding the two Mormon podcasting partners grows darker, the legal system is making cautious steps, with the Utah State Court officials citing the "additional time needed to review copious amounts of discovery" as reported by KUTV.

Both women are currently facing severe accusations: each charged with six counts of felony child abuse. Arrested in late August, neither Franke nor Hildebrandt has yet entered pleas. Their legal teams remain silent, refraining from commenting to the media.

The arrest was spurred by a chilling 911 call. Officers were dispatched to Hildebrandt’s residence in Ivins, Utah after a distressed neighbor reported a disturbing scene. He claimed that Franke’s 12-year-old son turned up at his house, his body emaciated and covered in wounds, pleading for food and water. Following this, Franke’s 10-year-old daughter was found in a similarly concerning state at Hildebrandt's home.

Reacting to these alarming revelations, Franke’s oldest daughter, Shari, expressed her relief on Instagram. Sharing an image of the police outside their family house, she commented, "Today has been a big day. Me and my family are so glad justice is being served. We've been trying to tell the police and CPS for years about this, and so glad they finally decided to step up."

Ruby Franke, once a prominent social media figure, attracted nearly 2.5 million viewers to her YouTube channel "8Passengers." However, in 2022, the family ceased their vlogging activities. Franke's career took a controversial turn when she teamed up with Hildebrandt for the “ConneXions” podcast. Their shared "Moms of Truth" social media platforms began circulating contentious parenting advice. Alongside these controversial tips, clips from ConneXions displayed Franke making disturbing remarks on serious topics such as eating disorders, sexual assault, and immigration, further stoking public outrage.

In the wake of Franke's arrest, her four youngest children were placed under the protection of child protective services. Their father, Kevin Franke, separated from the family for roughly a year, has now returned to their Springville, Utah home. His attorney, Randy Kester, expressed to The Salt Lake Tribune their intent to reunite the children with their father. Kester remarked after a custody hearing, emphasizing the children's need to be with family, specifically his client, Kevin.

Interestingly, Franke's extended family, notably her three sisters who maintain a prominent social media presence, voiced their concerns. They collectively stated that behind the glitz and glamour of the public eye, they have "done everything [they] could to try and make sure the kids were safe."

Their joint statement is a poignant reminder of the incident's gravity: "Ruby was arrested which needed to happen. Jodi was arrested which needed to happen. The kids are now safe, which is the number one priority."

The rescheduled hearing date is yet to be confirmed but is anticipated to be held after October 5, 2023, as per Fox 13's reporting. The world watches closely, awaiting the court’s verdict on this unsettling case, a grim reminder that not all is as it seems behind the curtains of social media stardom.

  • Mother Indicted On Murder Charges For Killing Her 3 Small Children
In a shocking turn of events that has shaken the community of Duxbury, Lindsay Clancy, a 32-year-old mother, has been indicted on murder charges in the deaths of her three young children. The indictment was announced on Friday by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
Clancy is now facing a hefty weight of charges – three counts each for murder and strangulation – in the tragic deaths of her children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and an infant, 8-month-old Callan Clancy. Previously, Clancy had been charged in the Plymouth District Court. However, following Friday's grand jury indictments, the gravity of the case has led to it being transferred to Plymouth Superior Court, which typically adjudicates more severe crimes

On January 24th, inside the Clancy's Duxbury residence, a horrendous series of events allegedly transpired. Prosecutors contend that Lindsay Clancy strangled her own children with exercise bands during the brief time her husband, Patrick, was out fetching dinner. Following this act, in what may have been an attempt at suicide, Clancy is said to have leaped from a second-story window.
In a heart-wrenching scene as described from the court documents, Patrick Clancy found his injured wife outside their home upon his return. In the chilling 911 call he made, Patrick could be heard frantically inquiring of his wife, “Where are the kids?” His subsequent discovery of their fate was grim: She replied, “In the basement.”
Relaying this harrowing 911 recording, Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague remarked on Patrick's discovery: “He can then be heard screaming in agony and shock as he found his children. His screams seem to get louder and more agonized as the time passes.”
While the older children, Cora and Dawson, were declared deceased that very night, young Callan tragically passed away three days later in Boston Children’s Hospital due to complications arising from asphyxia.

During the February arraignment, the courtroom witnessed contrasting representations of Lindsay Clancy's mental health prior to the alleged crimes. Kevin J. Reddington, Clancy’s defense attorney, portrayed her as a loving mother whose mental health had deteriorated notably post the birth of Callan, her youngest. In fact, Clancy had been prescribed an extensive range of psychiatric medications from October 2022 to January 2023. After the incident, Clancy allegedly informed her husband about experiencing a “moment of psychosis” and hearing a voice urging her to harm her children and herself. However, this was contested by prosecutors who cited Patrick Clancy's statement that his wife had never mentioned hearing voices or used the term “psychosis” before.

Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague provided a grim perspective on the matter, alleging Clancy’s actions were calculated. She stated that Lindsay Clancy "gave herself the time and privacy needed to commit the murders, and then she strangled each child in the place where they should have felt the safest: At home with their mom.”
Post these harrowing events, Lindsay Clancy was admitted to the hospital due to her sustained injuries and subsequently committed to Tewksbury Hospital for psychiatric care. As per the latest updates from the DA’s office on Friday, Clancy currently resides in a medical facility, being held without bail.
The community now awaits her arraignment on the latest charges in Plymouth Superior Court. As of this reporting, Boston.com has been in touch with Reddington for his remarks on the updated charges.

  • Murdered Microsoft Exec's Ex-Wife Extradited & Formally Charged With Murder
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed the extradition order for Shanna Gardner-Fernandez, 35, from Washington state to Florida to face charges in a gripping murder plot. Gardner-Fernandez, heir to a multimillion-dollar papercraft business, is accused of orchestrating the execution-style murder of her ex-husband, 33-year-old Microsoft executive, Jared Bridegan.

Jared Bridegan was shot multiple times in an alleged ambush in February 2022 on a secluded Jacksonville Beach road. The incident took place shortly after Bridegan dropped off the twins he shared with Gardner-Fernandez at her residence.

Tragically, the Microsoft senior UX designer was gunned down in the presence of his two-year-old daughter from a subsequent marriage. The chilling act was committed in an area surrounded by dense trees, with no security cameras to record the heinous crime.

“Jared was lured to his death. For the murder to happen in that specific area, it’s clear someone had planned it. There are no cameras or houses there, just trees on a one-way street,” expressed Kirsten, Bridegan's widow, in an interview with DailyMail.com.

The 61-year-old hitman, Danny Tenon, previously a tenant of Gardner-Fernandez's current husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana, admitted to the murder. Tenon disclosed that he had been contracted by Saldana-Fernandez for the crime. After his arrest on unrelated charges, Tenon also revealed his willingness to testify against his alleged co-conspirators.

Gardner-Fernandez, previously of Jacksonville, had shifted about 2,800 miles to the Pacific Northwest, after the incident, an area known for not having the death penalty. Law enforcement officials in Florida have, however, signified their intention to seek the death penalty for her crimes.

Many are closely watching this case, not just for its dramatic elements but due to the political implications with Governor DeSantis' involvement. The Jacksonville State Attorney’s Office confirmed to DailyMail.com that the extradition order had been signed, sidelining an extradition hearing previously scheduled for Gardner-Fernandez.

The charges facing Gardner-Fernandez include first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Notably, if found guilty, she might be subjected to the death penalty in Florida, where five executions have already been conducted this year.

High-profile criminal defense attorney Hank Coxe, representing Gardner-Fernandez, previously declared intentions to contest the extradition. The warrant for her extradition is currently en route to Benton County, Washington.

Gardner-Fernandez’s association with her new husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana, and the ensuing dramatic transformation in her behavior raised eyebrows among acquaintances. Once known as a straight-laced individual, she evolved into someone significantly bolder, even shocking tattoo parlor staff in 2015 with a request for a genital piercing.

The motivations behind this murder are speculated to revolve around a bitter custody battle over twins Liam and Abby, following the couple's separation in 2015.

Kirsten Bridegan expressed her sentiments regarding Gardner-Fernandez's arrest, stating, “There is satisfaction in knowing that the person I believe was the driving force behind this doesn’t get the privileges that she allegedly took from Jared. I trust the prosecutors to make the best decision for the case, and if that is the death penalty, then we support that.”

The trial for Gardner-Fernandez is set to resume in Florida on October 5th. The case continues to attract significant attention due to its intricate ties of family, betrayal, and the weighty legal consequences involved.

  • Pennsylvania Court Rules Against Parents of Ellen Greenberg
Pennsylvania Court Rules Against Parents of Ellen Greenberg
A Pennsylvania court has made a significant ruling regarding the controversial death of Ellen Greenberg in 2011. The 27-year-old woman was found in her Philadelphia apartment with 20 stab wounds. Initially labeled a homicide, the cause of death was later changed to suicide, a decision that left many questions unanswered.

     The Background

Ellen Greenberg's lifeless body was discovered in the apartment she shared with her fiancé, Sam Goldberg. The grim scene raised multiple questions. Goldberg told authorities he had left the apartment around 4:45 p.m. for a workout in the building's gym. Upon his return, roughly 45 minutes later, he discovered the apartment's swing bar lock was engaged from inside, preventing entry.

Growing increasingly concerned after failing to establish contact with Ellen via calls and texts, Goldberg attempted to force his way in. When he finally did, he found Ellen seated on the kitchen floor, fully clothed, with a knife protruding from her chest. The nature and location of some of the wounds, particularly a severe laceration to the top of her skull and stab wounds to the rear of her neck and spine, added layers of complexity to the case.

Although Goldberg was questioned by the police, he was released shortly after. An autopsy initially declared the death a homicide. However, in a surprising turn of events, the medical examiner reversed this decision after a meeting with the police, labeling Ellen's wounds as self-inflicted.

     Parents Fight for Justice

Disturbed by the sudden change in the cause of death and convinced there was more to the story, Ellen's parents, Joshua and Sandra Greenberg, sought answers. They enlisted a private investigator who declared Ellen's death "strongly suspicious of homicide." This investigator pointed out significant gaps in the police's case, including the lack of records from Goldberg's interrogation and the failure to examine the murder weapon for fingerprints.

Despite their efforts, the Greenbergs' pleas to reopen the case were denied. This denial led them to sue the city’s Medical Examiner’s Office in 2019, seeking to reinstate the original cause of death: homicide.

     The Court's Decision and Response

In a recent verdict, the Commonwealth Court sided with the city, ruling that the Greenbergs did not have legal standing to pursue the case. However, in a noteworthy mention, the judges stated they were "acutely aware of the deeply flawed investigation." Their decision elaborated on the pressing need for a detailed review of the investigation, in the hope that justice would eventually prevail for Ellen and her family.

Reacting to the decision, the Greenbergs admitted they were “disappointed but not surprised.” Joshua Greenberg, speaking to the Philadelphia Inquirer, highlighted the unexpected sympathy shown by the judges. He said, “I’m more surprised what they wrote in our favor than they ruled against us totally.” He further added, “It seems like somebody has a conscience here. They may have been judges in the judicial sense, and they didn’t want to change the law, but they definitely feel something is wrong.”

At this stage, it remains unclear if the Greenbergs will escalate the case to the state supreme court.

     Conclusion

Ellen Greenberg's death remains a tragic and controversial topic that has resonated with many. The recent ruling, while not in favor of her parents, indicates a judicial acknowledgment of potential shortcomings in the initial investigation. As the story continues to unfold, it serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities involved in seeking justice.

  • Oregon Man Confesses to 1979 Boston Murder Thanks To New DNA Evidence
A chilling confession has led to the closure of a decades-old cold case in Boston. John Michael Irmer, a 68-year-old man from Oregon, has been extradited to Massachusetts after confessing to the 1979 brutal murder and rape of Susan Marcia Rose, a 24-year-old woman from Pennsylvania.

District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced that Irmer is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court Central Division this coming Monday. The startling revelation came when Irmer voluntarily walked into the Portland FBI field office last month, confessing to a crime that had gone unresolved for nearly 44 years.

Irmer confessed that he met a woman with red hair, now identified as Susan Marcia Rose, at a skating rink in Boston around Halloween 1979. The two ventured into 285 Beacon Street, a building that was under renovation at the time. In a brutal act, Irmer admitted that he seized a hammer within the building and struck Rose on the head, which led to her death. Subsequently, he raped her. After the crime, he hastily fled to New York.

Upon investigating Irmer's claims, authorities found them to align with the case of Susan Marcia Rose. She was discovered dead at the Beacon Street location on October 30, 1979, having suffered multiple blunt injuries to the head, resulting in skull fractures and lacerations to the brain. Crucially, a DNA sample collected from Irmer matched samples preserved from the crime scene, solidifying the connection.

Tragically, Rose, originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, had relocated to Boston and was residing on Dartmouth Street at the time of her untimely death. Adding to the complexity of the case, another individual had been previously charged and tried for her murder in 1981, only to be found not guilty.

In an emotional statement, District Attorney Kevin Hayden remarked, “Nearly 44 years after losing her at such a young age, the family and friends of Susan Marcia Rose will finally have some answers. This was a brutal, ice-blooded murder made worse by the fact that a person was charged and tried—and fortunately, found not guilty—while the real murderer remained silent until now. No matter how cold cases get resolved, it’s always the answers that are important for those who have lived with grief and loss and so many agonizing questions.”

Boston Police have also confirmed that there was a standing warrant for Irmer's arrest from Boston Municipal Court. He made his first appearance in court on Monday, Sept. 11, for his arraignment, as reported by Boston.com. During this hearing, a startling twist occurred when Irmer allegedly confessed to another murder in a different state. Following these revelations, he was ordered to be held without bail.

This case stands as a poignant reminder of the impact unresolved crimes have on families and communities. The revelations also emphasize the importance of revisiting cold cases, and the potential for justice, even after many years. The turn of events offers a semblance of closure to the loved ones of Susan Marcia Rose, who have lived with uncertainty and pain for over four decades.
