Following the prophet is hearing, learning, and following the patterns of those who have obtained the testimony of Jesus and seeking for the same witness and transformation.

All men and women are invited to become possessors of a knowledge and power of God that is otherworldly. It is the invitation of the fullness of the gospel to receive a fullness of Christ - in this life.

We can experience the miracles of redemption and unlock heaven and pull it down to this earth. This is our great calling and the Lord's invitation. Please bear with me as I witness to my understanding of these principles and let us orient ourselves to the heavens and ask the Lord in his great mercy to accept our desires to come to him and bear witness of his word. I have a personal witness of him and his doctrine, and I bear this testimony in these presentations as someone who claims no authority only insofar as the Holy Ghost bears witness to the principles of which I testify.

He is a certified police instructor in firearms, defensive tactics, tactical driving, and patrol rifle operations. Jason has twice been awarded the Law Enforcement Metal of Honor for gallant bravery in the line of duty and was recognized as the Community Services Officer of the Year for his department.

It was in Afghanistan that the first ideas for what would become the War Chapters series began to form. After a rocket attack on his base in Herat, he turned to the scriptures and found comfort in reading about the experiences of Captain Moroni. He wrote these scenes as they played out in his mind all throughout his time there.

Jason volunteers his time and skills doing humanitarian work, conducting personal recovery operations, medical aid, and security, in response to natural disasters around the world. He has deployed to assist during Hurricane Katrina and the earthquake in Haiti.

Welcome to the Joseph the Believer Series! We expect the first video in this new series, hosted by Josh Chandler, to be ready for release in about a month, with additional videos being released each month going forward.  Each video will cover a different topic, in what we hope is an interesting and useful format, with a faithful, inside perspective on Joseph Smith.

The LDS Church's truth claims are in many cases inextricably tied to the occurrence of historical events.  However, the way history is written and recorded leaves us with a lot less guidance and a lot less understanding of what "really happened" than we think we have.

As a result, we often think we know the "answers" when in fact almost everything we think we know is written by a secondhand witness that faces memory problems, doesn't have access to anyone's interior thoughts, is liable to mistake rumor for fact, and may not even have become aware of many important facts in the first place.

As if that weren't enough, we don't even know what we don't know.  That is, we can be quite sure there mountains of facts and evidence about the life of Joseph Smith or the history of the LDS faith that for whatever reason never got recorded or about which we simply have never become aware.  We can be certain as well that at least some of them, our of so many, would be significant enough to change some or all of our conclusions and perceptions.

This means we should be slow to draw conclusions from narrative histories, biographies, and academic papers, which can only be as good as the sources they are based on, and further contain their own sets of historical biases.

The alternative we hope to offer on Shattering Triangles will be a history written from, we hope, Joseph Smith's own perspective.  It tries to ignore all of the noise and issues in the margins and just narrate his life as he evidently believed it to be shaped.

One of the most fundamental "triangles" that must be shattered and reworked is our concept of salvation. It affects the way we understand almost everything else in the gospel. As we come to understand it in greater clarity, we see that all other gospel principles fall perfectly into place.

This video is only an introduction. Future segments will unpack the implications of this paradigm shift in greater detail and depth.
