Hidden Wisdom

We know from D&C 121:34-36 that the thing that keeps us from being "chosen" is that our "hearts are set so much upon the things of this world."  What we don't often realize is that the reason we don't get the higher blessings we have been counseled to seek is precisely this: we have become, without realizing it, card-carrying members of the great and abominable church.

Meghan is pleased to share her recent address at the Isaiah Institute's online conference, "Israel's Coming Restoration." Her talk was originally entitled "Ascending from Jacob/Israel: Discerning Between Wheat and Tares."

In this address, Meghan juxtaposes the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares with Isaiah's depiction of a spiritual category called Jacob or Israel. She uses scripture to define levels of interpretations for "wheat" and "tares," describes the characteristics of both, and how these will manifest in how people experience the Day of Judgment.

Meghan is joined by Dr. Avraham Gileadi, to discuss his upcoming presentation at the Isaiah Institute's virtual conference, "Israel's Coming Restoration," to be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2023.

Register for this incredible event HERE!

Meghan Farner will also be speaking at the conference on the topic, "Ascending from Jacob/Israel: Discerning Between Wheat and Tares."

We hope you'll be able to attend!

Avraham Gileadi was born in the Netherlands during World War II. During the war, his father’s Dutch underground organization helped a New Zealand pilot escape to England. This led to the family emigrating to New Zealand in 1950. In 1968, Avraham Gileadi emigrated to Israel, where he learned Hebrew, attended rabbinical school and studied Jewish analytical methods. In 1973, he moved to the United States, married and raised a family of nine children.

Avraham graduated with a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Near Eastern Studies under the tutelage of Professor Roland. K. Harrison of Wycliffe College, Toronto, Canada, with Professor Hugh Nibley as chairman. For his doctoral thesis (“A Bifid Division of the Book of Isaiah.” Diss., Brigham Young University, 1981), he analyzed a complex literary structure in the Book of Isaiah that radically impacts the book’s interpretation. Avraham and his wife live in Sequim, WA.

Meghan is joined by Tammi Garlick, who shares the emotional story of her son's sudden suicide, and the lessons she learned about God in the years following. Topics Include:

- God is love
- Why the Lord May Withhold Information
- Our Specific Life Missions

Tammi Garlick grew up in Utah. She has always had an appreciation for all things beautiful and has enjoyed sharing this gift with others as an Interior designer.  Tammi is a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and regards this membership as one of the sweetest gifts the Lord could have ever given her.  She is married to her good husband Michael and they are the parents of four amazing children, three of whom are still living here on earth.

Through some very difficult challenges in her life, and especially the suicide of her beautiful son Joshua, Tammi has learned stunning truths concerning the love of God for ALL His children.  Her greatest desire is to attempt to share some of what she has learned, so that it may, in some way, instill faith, hope and trust, for any one battling to hold on!  Her message is…HOLD ON, HANG ON, AND NEVER EVER GIVE UP!!!
