The covert narcissist is a chameleon-- highly skilled at blending into any business and social terrain. Covert narcissists, because they wear the mantle of false humility so comforably, manuever with stealth and grace to reach their targets. In personal relationships they are smooth and appear to be deferent and caring toward the other person. They are masters of false compassion. Often the covert narcissist is a misture of being able to reach out and give to others, then pulling back to assert his power and command over them.
