As a warning, this episode today will be a heavy topic and mention mental health issues, including addiction and suicide.
As Holly discusses, this was a hard episode to record, and is therefore raw and unscripted. Holly talks about a loss in her life to suicide, the impact on addiction and alcoholism in a family, and some of the male cultural norms in society which make mental health and addiction difficult to cope and/or escape. And also, serve as a reminder that we all have struggles and that kindness, and empathy, can go a long way.
A message from Holly: I appreciate your kindness in listening to this episode. I realize the audio did not turn out great, and also, you can hear my kids yelling in the background at one point! I will work on improving this. Also, this was a raw episode for me to record, and I hope to expand on the topic and be more organized. But sometimes we all just need to share our thoughts, unscripted and uncensored. This was that for me, so thank you.
