With a background in software, he applied what he learned in that industry towards a traditional (and seemingly outdated) industry: manufacturing.

He was frustrated with how difficult it was to get a one off part, so he bought a laser cutter with the intent of doing small jobs to offset his costs to run it for himself.

Fast forward to today and SendCutSend now offers custom sheet metal parts in as little as 2 days. They have 260 employees and 3 strategic locations across the US (with plans to add 2 more).
