This week’s guest is one that I’m shocked that I haven’t already had on the podcast. I’ve known Mark Seed for years and I was am so happy to be able to talk with him about his approach to FIRE, as well as his investing philosophy (FIWOOT) and what it means to be a hybrid investor. Mark Seed is the founder of My Own Advisor, personal finance and investing blog that he started in 2009. He is also the co-founder of Cashflows & Portfolios, which is a new, free resource providing a beginning-to-end guide for DIY investors. Mark has been featured in MoneySense magazine, The Globe and Mail, and The Winnipeg Free Press and is currently working towards semi-retirement with his wife. As a successful DIY investor, Mark was able to share both great tips and the mistakes he’s made along the way. Mark also outlines how the 2008 financial crisis was the spark that lit the path for his financial journey and blog. If you’re just as curious about other people’s approach to investing as I am then I know you’ll love my conversation with Mark.
