The ego thrives on comparisons, being right, and judging others. No matter how accomplished or 'succesful' someone is, they’re still just human beings going through the same human experience as you are. Sure, maybe their job and financial situation is different from yours, but they have strengths and weaknesses, fears, good days, and bad days – just like you.
When we form a conceptual identity about someone and relate to that rather than the person - it is impossible to truly connect. Instead it's about recognising that the thoughts we have about people are just that - thoughts.
