How to Systematize Success w/Brian Bomar

Listen Later

Many business owners run into trouble when markets shift or when their top producers leave. How can we ensure that our team and systems make our income predictable? Why are leaders the ones responsible for the success or failure of a team? In this episode, Brian Bomar talks about how strong leaders lead their teams, and how we can make success happen even when the market isn’t on our side.

Consistency makes people trust you more. -Brian Bomar

Three Things We Learned From This Episode

Good hires shouldn’t be a matter of good luck  (08:40-09:20)

It’s better for us to work harder than hire someone unqualified to help us out. Quick hires almost always end up being mistakes. We have to have a system that weeds out the good from the bad as opposed to hiring when we’re desperate.

An excellent customer experience leads to free promotion (13:50- 15:36)

Sales skills are important, but providing a great customer experience is what makes us stand out. This leads to social proof as well. Companies who do a great job have more reviews on social media platforms.

We need proven tactics and systems to make success “systematic” (24:00-25:50)

Many business owners have situational success, especially in good markets. But as markets shift, we need to have systems in place that make transactions and profit predictable.

A team is only going to be as productive and successful as its leader. If our team isn’t making progress, we have to ask ourselves if we’re doing our job properly as well. If we don’t invest enough time in finding the right people and training them, we set the team up for failure.

We also have to be careful not to project some of our negative tendencies on our workers. For example, if we’re too harsh on ourselves, we might act the same way towards our team members. Not many teams thrive in stressful, judgmental environments.
