  • 5 Steps I Use to Find the Strongest Stocks Before Everyone Else — The PLTR Example

Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5KovlcHow do you find the strongest stocks before everyone else? In this video, I break down the 5 steps I use to find leading stocks in the stock market, using Palantir (PLTR) as a real-world example. This process combines market trend analysis, sector strength, relative strength, stock screening, OVTLYR data, and disciplined entry timing. The first step is always the overall market. Before looking for individual stocks, I want to know whether the market is actually moving in a direction that supports new trades. The OVTLYR Trend Template uses the 10 EMA, 20 EMA, and 50 EMA to identify the current market trend. When the 10 EMA is above the 20 EMA and price is above the 50 EMA, the market is showing a mathematical bullish trend.Next, we follow the money into sectors. A strong stock inside a weak sector can have a much harder time continuing higher. That's why I compare sector ETFs against the S&P 500 to identify sector relative strength and find where the strongest areas of the market are developing.Once the right sector is identified, step three is finding the leading stocks inside that sector. This is where a stock screener becomes extremely useful. Instead of searching for stocks that have already fallen dramatically because they “look cheap,” we're looking for stocks that are already demonstrating strength and outperforming the broader market.Palantir is a great example. When the S&P 500 was moving sideways or lower, PLTR was showing significant relative strength. Its 10 EMA was above the 20 EMA, price was above the 50 EMA, and the stock was already moving in the direction we wanted to see. That's the type of market leader I'm looking for.But finding a strong stock isn't enough.Step four is using OVTLYR to make the process much easier. You can quickly see market trends, Fear & Greed, Momentum Alerts, Market Breadth, sector strength, and individual stock data. The screener can then help narrow thousands of stocks down to potential leaders with bullish trends and positive backtest results. The Outlier 9 brings the market, sector, and stock conditions together so you can see how much of the setup is actually working in your favor. Remember, roughly 40% of a stock's movement comes from the market, 30% from the sector, and 30% from the individual stock. Finally, step five is waiting for the right entry.Even if you find a stock like Palantir with strong relative strength and a bullish trend, that doesn't mean you should automatically buy it today. The market has to cooperate, the sector has to cooperate, the stock has to cooperate, and then you need the right entry. That's the difference between simply finding a stock and having a repeatable stock-picking process.✅ 5 steps to find the strongest stocks before they move✅ Palantir (PLTR) and real-world stock analysis✅ 10 EMA, 20 EMA, 50 EMA Trend Template✅ Sector strength, relative strength, and market leadership✅ OVTLYR, Momentum Alerts, Market Breadth, and stock screeningIf you've ever wondered how to find the best stocks before everyone else, this process gives you a framework to start with. • Becoming a Professional Student | OVTLYR University Lesson 2

Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.

    Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5Kovlc

Most traders think the thing standing between them and better results is finding the right stock, the perfect indicator, or some secret trading strategy nobody else knows about.

But what if that’s not the problem?

What if the real difference between a beginner trader and a professional trader has almost nothing to do with predicting what the stock market will do next?

That’s where this lesson gets interesting.

Because professional trading isn’t about certainty. It’s about building a repeatable trading process that tells you exactly what to do BEFORE the pressure, fear, greed, and uncertainty show up.

    And that changes everything.

In Charlie Class Lesson 2 of OVTLYR University, we dig into what it actually means to become a student of the market and why years of trading experience don’t automatically make someone a skilled trader.

You can trade for five years and still make the exact same mistakes.

You can watch trading videos every day, load your charts with indicators, jump from strategy to strategy, and still never develop a real edge.

The goal isn’t to become more experienced at making random decisions.

    The goal is deliberate practice.

That means having a trading plan, executing it consistently, recording what happened, reviewing your decisions, finding weaknesses, making adjustments, and doing it again.

That’s how trading skill gets built.

    Inside this lesson, you’ll discover:

✅ Why professional traders focus on process instead of obsessing over individual wins and losses

✅ How to build a trading plan around your personality instead of blindly copying somebody else’s strategy

✅ Why journaling your trades can expose patterns you’ll never notice by simply looking at your P&L

✅ How risk management, entries, exits, position sizing, and emotional control fit together

✅ Why constantly changing trading strategies can trap you in the dangerous middle between confidence and consistency

✅ How catalyst risk can destroy an otherwise perfectly executed trade

✅ Why successful traders study, execute, record, review, adjust, and repeat

There’s also a real-world example involving Viking Therapeutics and a brutal overnight move that shows exactly why the market will eventually expose gaps in your rules.

And that’s actually a good thing.

Because every unexpected situation gives you another opportunity to improve the system.

    That’s the mindset shift.

    Instead of asking:

    “What stock should I buy?”

    Start thinking:

“What does my trading plan tell me to do today?”

Instead of asking whether a trade was right or wrong based on whether it made money, ask whether you actually followed your process.

A profitable trade made by breaking your rules can still be a bad trade.

A losing trade executed exactly according to a proven system can still be a good trade.

    That distinction is HUGE.

You’re never going to control what the stock market does after you enter.

You CAN control why you enter, where you exit, how much you risk, how large your position is, and whether you follow the rules you created before emotions took over.

That’s how you stop treating the market like a casino and start approaching trading like a professional skill.

And if you can improve that process just a little bit every time you trade, those improvements begin to compound.

    Study.

    Execute.

    Record.

    Review.

    Adjust.

    Repeat.

    That’s the work.

If you’re serious about becoming a more disciplined trader, building a trading system, improving your trading psychology, and developing a repeatable process you can actually execute in the real stock market, this lesson is where that foundation starts.

Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5Kovlc

This is not an easy market… but that doesn't mean there aren't opportunities.

Crude oil is above $105, the 10-year yield is pushing toward 5%, and SPY has once again moved into a bearish trend. The 10 EMA is below the 20 EMA and price is below the 50 EMA. That doesn't tell us how long the move will last or how far it will go, but it does tell us the current direction of the market.

And that's the challenge right now. This isn't a market where you simply buy a sector and let it run for months. Money is rotating, leadership is changing, and the strongest areas today may not be the strongest areas next week.

September has historically been one of the most difficult months for the market, and this year is continuing that pattern. The good news? Rotation creates opportunity if you know where to look. The new OVTLYR Sector Rotation Waterfall gives a visual representation of where money is flowing across the market. Instead of looking backward after a sector has already moved, you can see how rankings are changing over time and identify areas gaining strength.Technology led for a long period. Then leadership rotated into consumer discretionary, healthcare, energy, materials, and now back into energy. The goal is not to predict the future—it is to observe where money is moving and adjust as the market changes.Communication services is one area starting to stand out. The sector has moved into the middle of the rankings, market breadth is improving, and the chart is developing a potential bullish continuation pattern. Companies like Netflix, Google, and Meta are part of this group, giving the sector exposure to advertising, software, and artificial intelligence. But timing still matters.

The broader market remains difficult. Semiconductors have weakened, SMH is in a bearish trend, and many individual stocks are fighting against negative market and sector conditions. Remember: roughly 30% of a stock’s movement comes from the stock itself, while the sector and overall market influence the majority of the move.

Oil is another example. The commodity remains strong, but energy stocks and crude oil do not always move together. Oil is a unique asset class with different participants, contracts, and drivers. Technical levels matter, but geopolitical catalyst risk can overwhelm any chart.

That’s why I’m still avoiding energy. The opportunity may be there, but waking up to a geopolitical headline that changes the entire trade is not a risk I want in my portfolio.

Options trading can get confusing fast, especially when you start combining different strategies and trying to understand when each one actually makes sense. In this video, we break down covered calls, cash secured puts, protective puts, hedging, and the real trade-offs behind these popular options strategies.

The goal is not just to explain how these trades work, but to understand the situations where they can help and where they can hurt your portfolio.

    In this video, we cover:

✅ How covered calls work and how selling calls can reduce your cost basis

✅ Why covered calls and cash secured puts are considered synthetic equivalents

✅ The hidden risk of selling options and why high win rates can be misleading

✅ How protective puts work like insurance for your stock positions

✅ Why hedging can protect you but also reduce your upside potential

Options trading is all about understanding risk, reward, probability, and having a plan before entering a trade. There is no perfect strategy, only strategies that fit specific market conditions and trading styles.

If you want to improve your options trading knowledge and understand the mechanics behind advanced strategies, this breakdown will help you think about trades differently.

  • Oil Prices Are Going to $200‼️

Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5KovlcOil prices keep moving higher… but according to one energy analyst, they may still be too low.WTI pushed above $100 after new attacks disrupted Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline, one of the major routes that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz. But the bigger story may not be crude oil itself. The real pressure is showing up in gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other refined products consumers actually use every day. That creates an interesting disconnect. Diesel prices are trading at levels that historically lined up with roughly $200 oil, while gasoline prices are closer to what we’ve historically seen with oil around $125-$130. Crude itself is nowhere near those levels. Something in the relationship between crude and refined products has clearly changed. At the same time, the broader stock market still looks unhealthy underneath the surface. The equal-weighted S&P 500 has fallen sharply while the market-cap-weighted index has held up much better. The percentage of stocks above their 50-day and 200-day moving averages has been declining, new highs remain weak, and OVTLYR market breadth turned bearish well before some of the weakness became obvious in the major indexes.Bond yields are also moving higher. That matters because higher rates increase borrowing costs and put additional pressure on growth stocks, technology, software, and other long-duration assets. And despite oil moving higher, energy stocks aren’t necessarily moving with it. XLE was actually down while crude was higher, another reminder that the commodity and the companies tied to it do not always move together. That’s one reason I’m still completely avoiding the energy sector while geopolitical risk remains this high. The Strait of Hormuz, the Red Sea, pipeline attacks, refinery disruptions, and policy headlines can change the entire setup overnight. I don’t need that kind of catalyst risk in the portfolio. We also get our first look at the new OVTLYR Waterfall view. This shows how sectors are ranking over time so you can actually see where money is rotating. Energy is still number one, but healthcare is beginning to move higher in the rankings while consumer discretionary remains at the bottom. That opens up two potential ways to think about sector rotation: follow the strongest sectors while they remain leaders, or identify sectors beginning to climb from the bottom before they become obvious.✅ Oil above $100 and the refined-product price disconnect✅ Market breadth, RSP, moving averages, and weakening participation✅ Bond yields, Fed expectations, and pressure on growth stocks✅ Energy-sector risk and why crude does not equal energy stocks✅ OVTLYR Waterfall view and tracking sector rotationIf you’ve ever watched oil surge and assumed energy stocks had to follow… this one is worth watching. What if the biggest trading breakthrough has nothing to do with predicting the market?

In this video, we break down a powerful idea in trading psychology: thinking like a poker player. The goal is not to win every trade. The goal is to build a real trading edge, manage risk, understand expected value, and keep executing when the odds are in your favor.

    That shift changes everything.

✅ Why a losing trade can still be a good trade

✅ How positive expectancy works over hundreds of trades

✅ Why position sizing and risk management keep you in the game

✅ How revenge trading destroys solid strategies

✅ Why patience, discipline, and waiting in cash can be a massive advantage

We also dig into why traders confuse outcomes with decision quality, how losing streaks can happen even with a high win rate, and why the best traders focus on probabilities instead of predictions.

OVTLYR is also evolving its signals into momentum alerts and building strategy tools around repeatable, testable trading plans.

Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5KovlcOVTLYR University Charlie Class is officially kicking off, and before the first class even started, the students were already asking some of the most important questions a trader can ask.One of the biggest was about losses.Accepting a losing trade is one of the hardest parts of trading, but there’s a much better way to think about it. In any business, not every transaction brings money in. You pay rent. You pay expenses. Money leaves the account. Trading works the same way. A losing trade can simply be one of the normal costs of operating the business. That leads into one of my favorite analogies: trading like a casino. The casino doesn’t expect to win every hand. It has an edge, controls the size of each bet, and lets that edge play out over thousands of repetitions. Traders should think the same way. Position sizing acts like a table limit, making sure no single trade can seriously damage the account. Then frequency allows your statistical edge to begin showing up over time. That’s also why focusing too much on the ROI of one individual trade can be misleading. One trade can be a big winner, a small winner, breakeven, or a small loss. You don’t know which one you’re getting ahead of time. What matters is what happens across a large enough sample of trades. That’s where expectancy becomes far more important than obsessing over the outcome of one position. We also hear directly from several Charlie Class students about their trading backgrounds, including account blowups, high-yield covered-call ETFs, crypto exposure, options confusion, and the process of rebuilding around rules instead of hype. And that’s exactly what OVTLYR University is designed to do: help traders develop a repeatable process and understand whether they actually have an edge.Behind the scenes, we’re continuing to build the strategy library around SPY, QQQ, sector rotation, and eventually the Sector Intelligence Map. The goal is to teach the principles first, then make execution as simple and systematic as possible.✅ OVTLYR University Charlie Class kickoff✅ Accepting losses as a normal cost of trading✅ Trading like the casino instead of the gambler✅ Edge, expectancy, frequency, and position sizing✅ SPY, QQQ, sector rotation, and the OVTLYR strategy libraryIf you’ve ever taken one losing trade and immediately started questioning your entire strategy… this one is worth watching.
