Steve Black, known as Blackie, was the larger than life coach at Newcastle Falcons and had roles with The Welsh National rugby team and the British and Irish Lions as well as being a very long-time mentor for Jonny. Blackie was kind enough to guest for the Pilot episode of the I Am podcast and this is what you will hear today. In the episode, Blackie talks to Jonny about his feel-based coaching style, applied across all the teams he worked with ( he also coached football at Newcastle United, and Sunderland as well as many other teams). His message is one of presence, and dedication, and always underpinned by his incredible joyful outlook on life.
