Today’s episode is one that many of you have requested: LOVE TRIANGLES!
I wrangled my roommate Lara into helping me out with this one and since we were so controversial in our romance movie podcast, I have no doubt y’all will have thoughts on these particular trios.
Fair warning: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.
We discuss the qualities that make a compelling trio, famous love triangles in pop culture, and we have a healthy conversation debating vampires verses werewolves.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times…real men don’t sparkle.
LARA’S PICKS:
The Good Wife
Hunger Games
My Best Friend’s Wedding
MY PICKS:

Some Guy in Austin is back! And we are excited to share our favorite duets.
Note: A duet is different from a duo. We explain this in the opening of the show. The Judds? Duo. “That Boy is Mine” by Brandy and Monica? Duet. See the difference?
I think I should also point out that my duets are way better than SGIA’s. It’s my opinion, but it’s true.

I understand that this podcast title may be confusing. Let me explain:
When listener Kara suggested this topic, I was validated because I’ve been circling it for a while. However I didn’t just want to do dance movies because most of my favorite dance movies are musicals. And I already did a podcast on musicals. (It was wonderful, by the way. You should listen!)
But in Kara’s email to me, she phrased her suggestion as “dance scenes in movies.”
It all clicked. I sashayed over to my phone, called my sister, and we had a solid list in five minutes. Some are dance movies, some are musicals, and others are just fun dance scenes from movies. Brilliant! My brain no longer hurts! Thank you Kara!
Fair warning: We are unconventional and old. That’s code for WISE. Watch these dance movies and forever be changed!

In this episode of the I Hate Green Beans Podcast, I’m back with my roommate Lara discussing a fun topic. With the onset of Easter, we decided to share our rising stars with listeners. We talk about musicians and actors, but we also talk about iPhones, royal events, and craft beer.
Basically we talk about what has risen — just like Jesus.
EPISODE NOTES:
Lara and I discuss the new TV show Rise and how the theater department is debuting Spring Awakening. Although the show is more of a puttering flicker right now, we believe the kids in theater class WILL be rising stars.
Especially these two:
And the kids from A Wrinkle in Time.
Need rising star musicians? Check out Drake White and Carly Pearson.
Looking for a new craft beer? Lara thinks you should try Karbach.
You also need to save the date for this rising star…
And if you’re looking for a great Easter playlist, well look no more. I’ve got you covered!

Now that Bachelor Arie found love, proposed, changed his mind, said JUST KIDDING on national television, bought a ring for number two, proposed to her (also on national television), and is off cashing in his fifteen minutes of fame, I’ll be focusing on other pop culture related episodes of the podcast.
I know those of you who don’t watch The Bachelor are virtually high-fiving me right now!
In celebration of March Madness, my roommate Lara and I discus our SLAM DUNKS of the last year when it comes to pop culture topics. We also give examples of “around the rim” and AIR BALL moments. And there’s a recurring poll of “Who would you date?” The answers vary, depending on the topic, but I always lean heavy in the direction of King Arthur.
I think my motives are clear.
EPISODE NOTES:
Here’s a link to Thomas Rhett’s new album and The Greatest Showman soundtrack.
Don’t know what we’re talking about when we discuss Janet Jacket and JT’s 2004 halftime show? Watch HERE and thank you YouTube!

We made it through another season. Arie’s finale was a doozie. After the Final Rose was a hot mess. I’m sure it met every expectation ABC anticipated for the big event. There was a jilted bride, a girl power moment, speculation, a bland “apology,” very little closure, a reunion, an engagement, a new bachelorette announcement, a banjo, a few chaches, and a horse.
What more could we ask for?
A lot. There’s a lot more we can ask. And here’s a list:

Notice I didn’t use the term “fantasy suites” in the title of this podcast. Why?
Because a yurt is not the equivalent of a suite. Some Guy in Austin and I talk about this in too much detail and try to puzzle through the different ways Arie and Becca could go to the bathroom.
We discuss our favorite moments from Women Tell All and I fill SGIA in on which American is dating which international Bachelor star, Ashley I-Lashes bohunk, and Clare’s Canadian love interest. Then we dive into Peruvian crop circles, how many times is too many times to utter the words I LOVE YOU, and our new favorite fake villain Red Ross.

***Note: There was a dirty word around the ten minute mark that has been bleeped. I apologize for missing that one.***
Hooray for Bachelor Arie’s hometowns! I know we joke about this all the time, but that was the most dramatic rose ceremony ever, right? Who saw that coming?
Well, I sort of did. In the final moments. Some Guy in Austin talk about it on the podcast. We also talk about “Charlotte’s Web,” the infamous Jump and Straddle(R), and who we think of the remaining three has the best chance of landing a diamond ring by Uncle Neil.
Disclaimer: We recorded this late at night and we are both a little giggly. Just go with it!
