Well, it’s finally happened. Bachelor Arie is back and his ladies have officially been announced.
I couldn’t be more excited. In keeping with tradition, Some Guy in Austin and I break down the cast one-by-one, based on information we’ve gathered from their profiles. Join us as we try to figure out how we are going to tell all the Laurens apart. And giggle with us like adolescent school children at the very end. You will hear some silence, but just roll with it. That’s us not being able to breathe because we are laughing so hard.
Are you ready for Janu-Arie?
I am. Bring on the brick walls.
My friend Ranelle has been a connoisseur of new, original holiday music for years. She does all the research and then tells us what we need to listen to.
So now I’m telling you! And because we are in the Christmas spirit, I created a Spotify playlist so you can check out all the songs we discuss on the podcast. Santa is going to be so proud of me for being such a good blogger. I hope he finally brings me what I ask for every year:
Enjoy the show!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Hallmark Christmas movies have literally been playing since the 4th of July, preparing us for this podcast. My friend Stephanie and I discuss the brand new additions to the Hallmark holiday pantheon and we do our best to help you decipher between all of the charming town squares, struggling Christmas tree farms, and spontaneous snowball fights that break out in the middle of the street.
If you want to watch the trailers, check out this post where I anticipate the storyline of the new Hallmark movies. Then listen as we giggle our way through the plots.
Enjoy the show!
When my friend Catha told me her son was being a turkey this week (read: misbehaving) I was inspired to record a podcast. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Some Guy in Austin and I discuss Bachelor franchise villains, or turkeys if you will.
We dive deep, dear reader, reaching way back into the vault for some of these jokers. Not surprisingly, our list was quite long.
Villains gotta vil.
I’m guessing many of you have never even heard of the movie Shag. I’m sad for you and excited for me that I get to change that! My friend Stephanie and I discuss this wonderful little film in GREAT DETAIL (read: spoilers included) and we are super pumped to share our enthusiasm with you!
Please ignore my weird, scratchy voice and instead bask in the glory of a darling coming-of-age story about four friends who spend a week in Myrtle Beach in 1963.
Once we convince you to watch, you can use this Amazon link to buy Shag at your earliest convenience! I hope you love it as much as we do!
Enjoy!
This podcast is coming at you early because I just couldn’t wait to let y’all know how I felt about Taylor Swift’s new album ‘Reputation.’
And boy, do I have a plethora of feels.
My roommate Lara and I discuss all the tracks. You can listen along HERE.
We rave about Taylor’s recent appearance on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest, which you can watch on her website.
Did you see the special on ABC of Taylor singing our FAVORITE song ‘New Year’s Day?” No? Well you can watch it HERE!
Last but not least, Lara and I give our opinions on what songs you should buy off of Taylor’s 1989 album, just in case you don’t own the entire thing — which you should. Start with this one:
Why yes, that is Clint Eastwood’s son.
Lara’s Picks from 1989:
Lincee’s Picks from 1989:
Enjoy the podcast!
PS: The line about Taylor being 27-years-old, gorgeous and a billionaire — GET OVER IT — was directly lifted from a text message from Melanie Shankle who dropped the mic on our conversation about ‘Reputation.’
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the upcoming winter movies. Call me crazy, but the summer movie season was a bit of a dud this year. Other than Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Spider-Man Homecoming, Wonder Woman, and Home Again, I pretty much stayed at the house and ate my own popcorn.
Clearly, I have a thing for super hero movies and love stories. Throw dance and music genres in there and I’m golden.
That’s why I invited my friend Todd to help me out with episode 23. He’s way more refined than I am when it comes to Oscar contenders. You want Dunkirk-ish movie recommendations? He’s your guy.
Although it was super hard to narrow down, here are the main items we discuss:
We are both very nervous about Justice League.
I’m glad Thor cut his hair.
Todd throws some Winston Churchill in the mix with Darkest Hour.
I bring it back to glitz and glamor with The Greatest Showman.
What is a circus peanut you ask? Read about it here, but DON’T LET IT FOOL YOU.
We both love the holiday season and will be at the movies on opening weekend to see
Pitch Perfect 3. I know you’re rolling your eyes, but we have to go.
Aaron Sorkin can do no wrong. Todd convinced me to see Molly’s Game as a result.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi – enough said.
Enjoy the show!
So many of us love country music, but Some Guy in Austin and I break down the difference between “real” country music and “pop” country music. In short, you won’t find any Affliction shirts or jeans with rhinestones on the butt in this podcast.
We do discuss Rocky Mountain jeans which came in all the colors of the rainbow.
A country music legendary guitar player by the name of Redd Volkaert.
From best moment EVER from the CMA Awards, I give you two of my loves: Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake!
Here’s the one where Carrie Underwood sings her guts out at the Grand Ole Opry.
And my new favorite song from Miranda where she left it all on the stage in a fabulous dress at the ACM Awards.
Enjoy the podcast. I look forward to seeing you in my inbox when you write me about all the music artists we forgot who are awesome in your book!
Episode 21 of the IHateGreenBeans podcast is all about the television show Outlander. I have never been silent about my love for this show, but I thought it would be fun to discuss Jamie and Claire from a male perspective. Thanks to his wife who has very good taste in television programming, Some Guy in Austin not only watches, but has very specific opinions about a certain Scottish highlander and his Sassenach.
We have a long debate about this moment:
And believe it or not, we have a healthy discussion (for once) comparing Outlander to The Notebook.
I KNOW! A healthy discussion comparing Noah and Jamie! CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE?!
Some Guy is pretty passionate about the vocabulary he chooses to describe certain events. A constant censor beep would have been super annoying, so I utilized more creative measures to make sure this podcast stays clean as a whistle…for the most part.
I hope you enjoy!
On this episode of the iHateGreenBeans podcast, I interview my friend Melanie Shankle. I straight up stalked this woman for years and look where it got me.
DREAM BIG, KIDS!
