Y’all, we had so much to say that we had to divide all of the content into TWO separate shows. Some Guy in Austin really got off on a tangent when we discussed what it means to be a social media influencer. We also remind you who all the players are in season 4 of Bachelor in Paradise, and how they are already forming alliances. And by that I mean meaningful relationships. As always, you can find my recap of episode 1 HERE.
And we would love it if you left us a review on iTunes. I have no idea why this step is important, but apparently it’s like sitting with the popular kids at the podcast lunch table.
For the record, I ate lunch with one other person my entire freshman year. HOLLA TO MY HOME BOY CHANCE!
Although you may have figured out from my season finale recap, I’m a bit confused by what went down in the final moments of Rachel’s love journey. I discuss this in length with Some Guy in Austin on episode 8 of the podcast. We also have a few interesting thoughts on where this relationship is going, as well as candidates of who we would like to see on the ballot for the next bachelor.
Enjoy the show!
This week my friend Stephanie and I discuss the one and only Britney Spears. When I mention her name, what image comes to mind? Is it an innocent school girl with pigtails? Or is it images of a shaven head? Whatever the case may be, Stephanie and I discuss this musical icon’s place in pop culture history.
And yes, we do breakdown the wonder that is Crossroads.
Here are a few handy links related to the topics we cover:
Young Stephanie L-O-V-E-D Britney’s “Sometimes” video and can describe quite literally everything that is going on in the choreography. As a podcaster, I truly appreciate her vivid word play.
We also talked about her infamous flesh bodysuit and albino python at the MTV video music awards.
Do you remember her “For Those Who Think Young” Pepsi commercial? I loved it at the time, but it didn’t convince me to buy Pepsi. I’m a loyal Pepper.
Like Steph mentions, the video is grainy, but if you want to watch Crossroads on YouTube, your wish is our command!
Who could forget JT’s “Cry Me a River” video with a Britney Spears lookalike?
Stephanie would be so mad at me if I didn’t include a link to her crush Anson Mount, who managed to get a job after his Crossroads fame!
Last but not least, here’s a link to the IHGB podcast or one to iTunes if you’re interested in subscribing.
Enjoy the show!
In this episode of the I Hate Green Beans podcast, Some Guy in Austin and I discuss Peter, Bryan, and Eric’s trip to Dallas to meet Rachel’s super cool family. We also talk about favorite Seinfeld episodes (puffy shirt!), what to wish for if given the chance to ring a magical bell, and Bryan’s downfall. I even refrain from editing out a dirty joke as told by SGIA. I hope you like it!
It’s Episode 5 of the I Hate Green Beans podcast! Some Guy in Austin and I discuss Rachel’s hometowns and how we were sad to learn that Pitbull would not be featured in Bryan’s date.
Remember, I’m working on getting the podcast up on iTunes. Any day now, I should be up and running over there.
Until then, feel free to listen or download below. ENJOY!
As promised, this is my first non-Bachelor related podcast on I Hate Green Beans. My friend Lara joins me to discuss our favorite love stories on the big screen. Spoiler alert: The photo of this post does NOT make the cut. I know…SCANDALOUS!
Find out why by clicking below. Enjoy!
I know this sounds ridiculous because I’ve been podcasting for all of five minutes, but episode 3 might be one of my favorites. Who knew the tooth fairy, dinosaurs, fancy watches, and dysfunctional families could be so funny? I hope you like the episode as much as I liked recording it with Some Guy in Austin.
If you want to read my recap of week 7 where I detail Rachel’s fun and frigid time in Switzerland, here’s a link back to the post.
Once again, I’m working on the iTunes situation and hope to have everything resolved soon. Hang in there with me.
And for those of you DYING because I haven’t posted anything non-Bachelor related (hi AmyK!), I can’t wait for you to hear my podcast tomorrow where I discuss the art behind making a good love story with my friend Lara.
Until then, here’s to episode 3! Enjoy the show!
First of all, I’d like to thank each and every one of you who dowloaded/listened to the inaugural I Hate Green Beans podcast yesterday. There was an overwhelming response that exceeded all of my expectations. THANK YOU! I’ve been working like crazy over here to produce something that I think y’all will enjoy, and it’s nice to know that most of you are on board.
For those of you who CAN’T STAND the Bachelor franchise, I beg you to hang tight. Pop culture-related podcasts are coming!
And please stay tuned for ways to download the podcast on iTunes or other streaming services. We aren’t quite there yet, but it’s in the works.
Now, what can you expect from Episode 2 of the I Hate Green Beans podcast? Well, lots of laughing for one thing, as well as a minor infatuation with a couple of vikings named Tom and Morton. I’m so glad I was able to track down Some Guy In Austin during his travels, because I simply NEEDED to know his true feelings about the phenomenon that is Peter in an old-man sweater.
You may have forgotten (or blocked out) what Rachel experienced in week six of her journey to find love. Never fear. You can refresh your memory by reading all about it right now!.
Here’s hoping you enjoy Episode 2 of the I Hate Green Beans podcast! HAVE FUN!
Thank you to everyone for your overwhelming response to Wednesday’s big reveal:
My cup runneth over. Y’all are too kind, and I truly hope you enjoy the book. I’ll go ahead and apologize publicly for chapter 2. I’m blushing now just thinking about it, but there’s nothing I can do to stop it now. A six-month head’s up will have to do.
And for those four people who unsubscribed from my email list, I totally understand. Some people don’t like reading books or joining launch teams or being bombarded by email asking readers to feign enthusiasm. No hard feelings. However…
May I interest you in a podcast?
That’s right. Yours truly is launching a podcast TODAY. It’s below all of this text. Right there for you to click on or download. My East Texas accent comes out to play every once in a while. I’d like for you to file that under a “she’s so charming” category if you don’t mind.
So what’s this podcast about? Allow me to elaborate once again by interviewing myself.
Q: Wow. You’re launching a podcast. That’s a huge undertaking. You must be so tired. Is that why your face looks the way it does? How many people have asked you if you’re sick this week?
Q: What’s the title of your podcast?
Q: WE GET IT. YOU HATE GREEN BEANS.
Q: What will you talk about on your podcast?
Q: Do you talk about The Bachelor?
Q: Does that mean you’re discarding the Bachelor recap? The thing that started all of this hullabaloo?
Q: What if I don’t watch that filthy show and secretly judge you for dedicating segments of your podcast to it?
Q: I technically don’t. Is that bad?
Q: No, for real. What other topics will you include?
Q: I’m going to need you to be more specific.
Q: Isn’t it going to be weird with you just talking to yourself about pop culture?
Q: Really? Like who? Our Host Chris Harrison?
Q: Please tell me you’re going to talk to your mama.
Q: So which friend is up first?
Q: How long are these podcasts?
Q: And I can listen to the first one below?
Q: When can I expect the others to come out?
Q: When will the podcast be live after this week?
Q: Let me get this straight — After today, there will be a new podcast episode on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday? Plus a bonus?
Q: Are you mad, woman?
Q: Will this effect your blog? With all this book writing and podcasting, what will happen to the original I Hate Green Beans?
Q: With your busy schedule and Chris Harrison’s busy schedule, how will y’all ever find the time to date?
Q: None taken. I get it. Those eyes…
Q: YES! Let’s not forget the way he smells…
Q: You better believe it, but we’re off topic. Why aren’t you on iTunes or some sort of podcasting app?
Q: Do you have one of those cute tiles with your podcast name on it?
Q: Can I see it?
Q: What if I don’t like your podcast. Do you want me to tell you?
Q: Fabulous. What else would you like to say to your readers?
Here we go! Episode 1 is below! If you need a refresher, here’s a link to the episode’s recap. Pay no attention to my weird giggle or accent and HAVE FUN!
