"Send Ben a text"
Hey everyone! Today we're diving into how we can build better relationships with our teenagers. I'm thrilled to be here to share some insights I've gathered about connecting with teens. You know, it might surprise you, but even though teens sometimes act like they're not interested, they really do want to connect with us parents!
So, I've got five killer tips to help us moms and dads get closer to our teens. First up, let's make spending time together a blast! Whether it's playing games or going on adventures, having fun together can really strengthen our bond.
Next, let's talk about something I like to call "values." It's all about finding common interests and doing things together that both you and your teen care about. For instance, if you're into sports, why not cheer for your favorite team together?
Now, here's a biggie: let's not take things too personally. Yeah, teens can sometimes say or do stuff that hurts our feelings, but it's not about us—it's just them figuring things out.
Another thing, let's be real with our teens. Pretending to be someone we're not won't help us connect with them. And finally, let's try stepping out of our comfort zones together! Trying new things can create awesome memories and bring us closer.
So, if you're ready to level up your parenting game and create an amazing relationship with your teen, check out these tips and join the fun at IMPACT Live! See you there!
