I was first introduced to the Akashic Records as a teenager by my mom (a therapist and healer), and have been working with them on a daily basis for most of my adult life. I became certified as an Akashic Records Practitioner and started giving readings to others in 2012, and have since developed a unique curriculum for my own Akashic Records Certification Program.

In my time using the Records - both for my personal healing and to assist others with their evolution - I've been delighted, awed, deeply moved, transformed, and continually fascinated by their power, benevolence, and wisdom.

My guest for this episode is MaryCatherine McDonald, a research professor and life coach who specializes in the psychology and philosophy of trauma. She has been researching, lecturing, and publishing on the neuroscience, psychology, and lived experience of trauma since completing her PhD in 2016. 

While engaging with trauma academically, MaryCatherine experienced the loss of her parents - a significant event that required her to apply her knowledge and insights regarding trauma to herself.

Working with a healer or teacher on your path of awakening can be an empowering, helpful, very supportive experience. Healers and teachers can help us grow beyond our limits and address blindspots or work through things we might not be able to heal on our own.

At the same time, it's important to be discerning when you seek out a new healer, teacher, or spiritual modality. Just because someone or something is labeled "spiritual" doesn't mean it is necessarily aligned with you, or free of ego.

In this episode, I share some ideas about potential issues or red flags you might look for when seeking out a new healer, teacher, or healing modality. Please follow your intuition and gut feelings, and never allow anyone to pressure you into working with them!

Although you are primarily an Infinite Being of Light, you're also incarnated into a physical, human body. On the 3D human plane, money is a necessary currency - to keep yourself alive, to feed yourself, to shelter yourself, to make things happen in the world.

In this episode of AWAKENING, I answer a listener email about how to shift into a mindset of abundance, create a healthy relationship with money, and forgive ourselves for any past financial mistakes or missteps.

I also address why it's best not to demonize money or see it as evil. Ultimately, it's not money that corrupts us. What can corrupt us is an unchecked ego, which seeks to accumulate more and more and constantly fears lack or tries to assert its power over others.
