Brad takes some time off in Noosa before getting back into long runs.

Melbourne Marathon was taken out by Reece Edwards in 2:14:34, just ahead of Ryan Gregson making his marathon debut in 2:14:54, with Liam Adams third in 2:15:37 after leading out for the majority of the race.

Eloise Wellings won the Bridge To Brisbane 10k race in 33:07, Cassie Fien, Richelle Hill. Tim Vincent was first overall in 29:29 ahead of Liam Boudin and Jack Bruce.

Brad takes us through his heart procedure in Melbourne and his reintroduction to training.

Kelvin Kiptum is now the World Record holder in the marathon, clocking negative splits to run 2:00:35 at the Chicago Marathon. Fellow Kenyan Benson Kipruto was second in 2:04:02 and Bashir Abdi of Belgium was third in 2:04:32. Conner Mantz was first American in 2:07:47.

Sam Ekutan of Kenya won the Perth Marathon in 2:20:17, ahead of Dean Menzie and James O’Neill while Janet Komen also of Kenya won in 2:43:12 ahead of Lauren French Jackie Kellermen.

Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia set a marathon World Record of 2:11:53 at the Berlin Marathon, shattering the previous mark by splitting halfway at 66:20 before coming home in a 65:33 second half. Tigst finished well clear of podium-getters Sheila Chepkirui 2:17:48 of Kenya and Magdalena Shauri 2:18:41 of Tanzania.

Othmane El Goumri of Morocco was the winner of the Sydney Marathon in 2:08:20 ahead of Kenyan Laban Korir in 2:08:43 and Getanah Tamire of Ethiopia in 2:11:20. Betsy Saina of USA in 2:26:47

Pre Classic Diamond League Final Linden Hall sets another Australian & Oceania Record, running 3:56.92, with Jessica Hull 3:57.57 for eighth Eugene, Oregon USA. Catriona Bisset 1:58.35 for sixth place in the women’s 800m with Athing Mu winning just ahead of Keely Hodgkinson.

Tan Relays Seth O’Donnell 10:37 Men’s Premier Division Bendigo, Western Athletics, Mentone. Sarah Billings 12:09 Women’s Premier Division Box Hill, Glenhuntly and St Stephens Harriers

City To Bay in Adelaide held the Australian Road Running Championships, which were won by Jack Rayner in 34:24 over Zach Facioni, while Gen Gregson was the winner in 38:40 over Caitlin Adams. Alastair Christy and Tiana Cetta respectively won the Half Marathon.

Julian enters the taper phase as the Sydney Marathon draws ever nearer.

Stewy McSweyn returns to form running the new 2000m Oceania Record in 4:48.77 at the Brussels Diamond League, breaking a 17-year old record held by Craig Mottram. In the Women’s 1500m Jessica Hull ran 3:57.75 for fourth place, with Linden Hall in 4:00.41 as Laura Muir took the win in 3:55.34.

NYRR 5th Avenue Mile won by Scottish duo Josh Kerr and Jemma Reekie. Jessica Hull backed up with a 4:21.6 for 6th place.

Great North Run taken out by Tamirat Tola of Ethiopia in 59:58 after his withdrawal from the World Championship Marathon in Budapest, and Peres Chepchirchir of Kenya in 1:06:45 with the event marking the swansong of Mo Farah.

Morgan McDonald ran 7:35.38 for 5th all-time fastest 3000m in Zagreb, Croatia while Linden Hall placed second in the 1500m 4:03.83 at the same meet.

Catriona Bisset 1:58.77 behind winner Laura Muir in the Zurich Diamond League Women’s 800m with Ellie Sanford pacing. Stewart McSweyn ran 3:31.92 in the 1500m as Yared Nuguse of the USA upset the World Champion Josh Kerr in 3:30.49, with Matt Ramsden also on pacing duties. Yomif Kejelcha took out the 5000m in 12:46.

Linden Hall claimed third in the Xiamen Diamond League 1500m in 3:57.92, behind winner Freweyni Hailu of Ethiopia.

Sydney Half Marathon won by Niamh Allen in a course record time of 1:12:44, well clear of podium placers Rosie Weber and Helena Eastham. Ben St Lawrence 1:05:55 ahead of Leo Peterson and Joe Burgess.

Andre Waring of Box Hill took out the Victorian Half Marathon title at the Burnley Half Marathon, winning in 1:04:27 ahead of Bendigo duo Archie Reid and Nathan Stoat. Box Hill were the winning team of Men’s Premier Division, ahead of Bendigo and Ballarat Regions.

Lisa Weightman joins the show to recap 16th placing in the marathon at the Budapest World Championships, talking about her preparations for the heat in Cairns, balancing parenting and work commitments with training and how well she’s positioned for a potential fifth Olympics in a year’s time. Lisa talks about the Osaka-Tokyo Marathon double she ran earlier in the year, her plans for one more marathon before potential selection for Paris and advice for those lining up for their own marathon in the coming weeks.

National Cross Country Championships in Stromlo, Canberra won by Jack Rayner over Andy Buchanan, Ed Marks. Gen Gregson continued her strong form taking the title over Leanne Pompeani and Holly Campbell.

Adelaide Marathon won by Fraser Darcy 2:24:00 and Tara Palm 2:48:10 while the Half Marathon won by Jacob Cocks in 1:05 and Eloise Wellings in 1:13:13

Matt Smith won the 12km Perth City to Surf in 36:49, as did Sinead Noonan in 41:55

In the 800m heats of the Budapest World Athletics Champs Peter Bol ran 1:46.75, Joseph Deng advanced to Semi Final. Marco Arop of Canada was the gold medallist in the event.

Stewart McSweyn 13th in the 5000m  final in 13:26.58 while Morgan McDonald ran 13:43.58 in the heat stage. Jakob Ingebrigsten defended his title as 5000m World Champion outkicking Mo Katir of Spain, while Faith Kipyegon took home a rare double in winning the 5000m gold medal over Sifan Hassan and Beatrice Chebet.
