  • JFD439: It's Pat, Orgazmo, Run Ronnie Run
With Halloween out of the way, your Junk Food Dinner boys are ready to celebrate Hallo-WEEN, a new experience in Ween-themed cinematic chats. So put down that crucial squeegie, pick up a slice of taylor ham, and get ready for an audiovisual trip down memory lane you'll never remember! Up first! It's a sketch. It's a movie. It's a person of indeterminite biological gender. It's Pat from 1994! This Saturday Night Live feature might be a true innovator in the field of SNL movies being awful. Can an uncredited script assist from a young Quentin Tarantino save things? We'll tell ya! Next up! If you've ever been a young Mormon man in Los Angeles getting accidentally mixed up in the porno business, then you'll know exactly just how true to life Matt Stone and Trey Parker's Orgazmo from 1999 is. And if you haven't yet, well, there's still time. Finally! It's a third movie with the band WEEN on the soundtrack (yes, that was our theme), and that movie is of course Run Ronnie Run from 2003. Shot years earlier, a troubled post production delayed this Mr Show movie until the world was just ready for another Joe Dirt adjacent comedy. But does it have the yuks? All this plus one of your trusty hosts is kicked in the dick with a terrible headcold, a collection of saltiness factors, a critical update on the view from the parking lot of the Tease & Please Strip Club, Kevin half-reviews Suspiria (2018), we call out Jake Fogelnest on his inappropriate behavior, low-key gripes about Jock Jams of yesteryear, things that are 'understandable', unknown callers tell us what kinda pornos they're watchin' in there, long-form evening adventures with a man called Travis, the long-awaited reviews of Del Taco and In N Out Burger provided by noted food eater Kevin Moss, Parker Bowman's continued reviews of the latest GWAR album, pixels for propaganda, why not enjoy a cartoon man peeing on a monkey?, our weekly news & Blu-ray Picks, Skype presents a phantom echo, all rides offered are in the past tense, weenie beats and a whole lot more! • JFD438: Jack-O, When Good Ghouls Go Bad, Halloween (2018)
It's Schlocktober's stunning climax with our Halloween show recorded LIVE! in front of a studio audience with special guest star Mark Freado! First, a wizard cobbles together footage from other unused Fred Olen Ray films (seemingly) to create a pumpkin-headed slasher in 1995's "Jack-O" starring Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens and Cameron Mitchell! Next, a goth kid curses a small Minnesota town, vowing to return after his death to destroy the town if they ever celebrate Halloween in the R.L. Stine-penned "When Good Ghouls Go Bad." Finally, Michael Myers returns to Haddonfield one final time (LOL!) in "Halloween" (2018). All this plus Haunted House chat, Spectacle Shriek Show chat, Dennis Gordon touched Kevin's boy, snoozing through Phantom, no DVDs, No Nerd News, No Voice Mails, but so much more! Direct Donloyd Got a movie suggestion for the show, want to give your opinion on a movie we talked about or just want to tell us we suck? Drop us a line [email protected]. • JFD437: Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, Son of Frankenstein
Schlocktober is in full effect and what better way to celebrate the holidays than with the patron saint of Halloween, Frankenstein, on his 200th birthday! Not only that, but we're joined by Shelby Cobras from Illogical Contraption to help kick off the festivities. Up first, we take a look at the original 1931 classic Frankenstein. Directed by James Whale and starring Boris Karloff as the iconic monster and Colin Clive as the mad doctor that creates him! Then, at the behest of the even madder Dr. Pretorius, Dr. Frankenstein assembles a wife for the monster, who has now learned to talk, in the 1935 sequel The Bride of Frankenstein. Finally, years after the events of the first two films, Dr. Frankenstein's son (Basil Rathbone), returns to his father's castle and finds Ygor (Bela Lugosi) and the monster waiting for him in Son of Frankenstein from 1939 All this plus witty banter between friends, pumpkin carving tips, scared children in Half Moon Bay, LeBron James and Jason, who are the real monsters, fang count its, Nerd News, blu-rays and so much more. • JFD436: Fright Night (1985), Fright Night Part II, Fright Night (2011)
Get ready to scream your head off, Junk Food Junkies, with your favorite trio of Vampire Next Door flicks ever crammed into a single franchise umbrella. It's our in-depth take on the world-renowned intellectual property licensing opportunity FRIGHT NIGHT (presented by DreamWorks Pictures). And to top it off, we're joined by none other than hatless Jackson Stewart, director of Beyond the Gates and known Fright Night aficionado! Up first! It's not the Ferrel-based feature you're thinking. It's the original videostore classic, 1985's Fright Night. Written and directed by Tom Holland, this classic tale of teenage vampire suburbia paranoia is one we're all excited to chat about. Next up! It's that weird 1988 sequel, Fright Night Part II that some folks inexplicably have a soft spot for. But will any of your JFD hosts and/or guests fall under that inexplicable mold? Tune in to find out. It's the only way. Finally! It's the completely newer and more recently released version of this classic film tale, 2011's Fright Night. I'll tell ya it stars Colin Farrell and a buncha other people but I'm too tired to write much more on the subject. It's a remake of the one you know and love, but with more CGI blood. All this plus all the jointed limbs you could want, semi-extended Candy Corn chats, we see you Fairborn Ohio, Kevin reveals his #1 Halloween candy go-to snack, Parker gets testy about listicles, yet another Valiant Comics reference, the scary implications of podcasting to a public audience of all ages (aka Kevin curses at children), jokes about the Disney corporation, distant rumblings of spooky concerts, a trip to the Magic Manor at Eastwind Mall, a classic Ragsdale defense, werewolf transformations by Rick "James" Baker, an unfair attack on the late Sir Christopher Lee, TCM Piracy Cruise lines, an unexplained resurgence in the popularization of the Shadmock theory, a passing reference to aspect ratios, our weekly news and Blu-ray Picks, mild Skype noises, rides offered (and taken), splunky beats and a whole lot more! • JFD435: The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Ghostwatch, Event Horizon
This week on JFD, it's the second week of Schlocktober and we're partying with three movies picked by our world class Patreon donors. Up first, Vincent Price plays a music and theology-loving mad man who is exacting revenge on a group of doctors who couldn't save his wife in 1971's The Abominable Dr. Phibes from AIP. Then, we watch a 1992 British television special called Ghostwatch where actual BBC presenters pretended to be investigating a haunted house on Halloween and managed to fool a good portion of the UK viewing audience in the process. And finally, Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburn lead a crew of space explorers on a mission to track down a lost space vessel. But when they find it, it turns out the ship is haunted and causes some crazy reactions from the crew in Event Horizon from 1997. All this plus witty banter between friends, difficulty pronouncing the word "abominable", Hell Fest chat, Travis from GWARcast calls in, JoBeth boners, Halloween sequel updates, Juggalo dropkicks, Nerd News, blu-rays and so much more. • JFD434: Poltergeist 1-3
We're here!! The ninth annual Schlocktober begins this week, but this episode was built on an ancient burial ground! First, in an idyllic suburb, ghosts use the static between TV channels to talk to a young girl in Tobe Hooper's "Poltergeist." Next, the ghosts track down Carole Anne and her family and only vaguely racist depictions of Native Americans can save them in "Poltergeist 2: The Other Side." Finally, Carole Anne moves in with Nancy Allen in her Chicago skyrise, but still has ghost problems in Poltergeist 3. All this, plus ICP chat, clowns, DVDs, Nerd News, we find out who's a kid, Night of the Living Dead's birthday, Halloween wishes and so much more! • JFD433: Twister, The Lure, Bone Tomahawk
We LOVE our Patreon donors, who keep this ramshackle little podcasting endeavor afloat week after hellish week. But how can we possibly love all of the movies they're making us review? Forgive us, listeners, if we get a little randy with your picks this week! Up first! It's not the tornado-based feature you're thinking. It's Twister - no, not that one. This patreon-picked feature stars Crispin Glover, Harry Dean Stanton, and a fairly young Dylan McDermott. It's about a family with some kind of issues or something! Next up! It's that weird Polish mermaid movie we've been chatting about for awhile, The Lure (from 2015). This weird, dark musical love story has got some shadows of ghoul summer peaking up from the shallows. Finally! It's the completely rad Bone Tomahawk, also from 2015! Everybody in the world loves this movie, and you will too, so come listen to us chat about it for a bit! All this plus weird dark things coming to your television, Harry Dean Stanton from The Avengers, Kevin falls in love with a nightclub, Sean gets mean with one of the Wilsons, chop-socky remix phases, our weekly news and Blu-ray Picks, mild Skype noises, no rides offered (and none taken), cathode ray tubes, funky beats and a whole lot more! • JFD432: Predator, Predator 2, The Predator
This week we pay tribute to one ugly motherfucker. That's right it's Predator week here on JFD! We're diving into all things Predator, including Hollywood's latest attempt to make space dreadlocks cool. Up first, it's the video store classic that started it all. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers lead a team of elite badasses into the Central American jungle on a rescue/assassination mission, but get out-badassed by an alien who's only here to hunt humans in 1987's Predator. Then, the Predator returns (but Arnold doesn't) and this time he's out of the jungle and into the city in Predator 2 from 1990. Danny Glover plays a hard-boiled cop trying to bust cartoonish Colombian and Jamaican gangs but finds out he has bigger fish to fry when the Predator starts killing them first. And finally, Shane Black (who played Hawkins in the original Predator) directs the latest installment in the franchise with The Predator from 2018. In this one The Predators and their alien dogs come to Earth looking for autistic kids' DNA before global warming kills everyone. Seriously. All this plus witty banter between friends, Sean's experience trying to get a sneak peek at the new Halloween movie, Parker's future in butter sculpting, chord issues, stories about standing in lines, Nerd News, blu-rays and so much more. • JFD431: Party Camp, Benji the Hunted, Weekend at Bernie's 2
Ghoul Summer is over and we get to relax with a Cool Summer! First, a group of misfits (like Billy Jacoby and Jewel Shepard) head into the wilderness for the summer in "Party Camp" from 1987. Next, America's favorite dog is stranded on an island and has to protect a family of mountain lion kittens from bears, wolves, hunters and all types of shit in "Benji the Hunted" from 1987. Finally, everyone's favorite corpse returns and this time, he's treasure hunting thanks to a voodoo in spell in "Weekend at Bernie's 2" from 1993. All this plus Swedish emails, voicemails from nice people, voicemails from mean people, DVDs, the golden age of tv, pre-controversy Norm MacDonald chat and so much more! Donloyd Here

  • JFD430: Breaking Point, Threads, Lunatic
It's the final week of Ghoul Summer for this year, and maybe forever if Ghoul Summer heel Kevin Moss gets his way. But can even he stomach this week's trio of ghoulish flicks before making that kind of executive decision? Tune out for the thrilling conclusion to this arbitrary cliffhanger. Up first! It's another gritty and gross hardcore porno slash exploitation slash rape slash murder film from Sweden, directed by that dude who did Thriller: A Cruel Picture (aka They Call Her One Eye). That's what you've always wanted in a Ghoul Summer flick, right? Not to be confused with the Bo Svenson movie of the same name, it's Breaking Point (from 1975)! An outsourced pick from our pal Justin, will this wildcard play become a Ghoul Summer classic? Next up! It's Ted Turner's favorite British TV movie about a theoretical nuclear strike on Sheffield England, Threads (from 1984). It's completely ghoulish and nothing more or less. Not suggested by any Justins. Finally! It's the Ghoul Summer film some JFD hosts are calling "better than Beach 24" - of course, we're talking about the SOV serial killing obscurity Lunatic (from 1999 according to IMDB). It's got more low-budget breast augmentation than a Monday in Beverly Hills. And it was totally recommended by a Justin. All this plus allusions to out of state felonies, abrupt FaceTime refusals, intense couch-based labor pains, the Buffy Slot Machine report, yet again we produce another signature Fast Food Roundup, basement atmospheres, Cigarette News, the boundaries of Brody Stevens' the Triangle, a special Species report, Thriller-based digressions, our weekly news and Blu-ray Picks, mild Skype noises, some rides offered (and taken), genuine wonderment, friendly sea serpents and a whole lot more!
