  • JFS104: Tokyo Godfathers (2003)

Our adventures on the fringes of Shinjuku continue with our look at Tokyo Godfathers, Satoshi Kon's 2003 animated dramedy about three unhoused people navigating personal struggles when presented with a Christmas miracle: a newborn baby. It's also a New Years film (which is why we're allowed to review it).

But first! We discuss our upcoming hopes and dreams for this year in media watching with our patented (or, at the very least: patent-pending) "View Year Resolutions" segment!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus turkish grocery shopping, suckling on cool lookin' dudes and nutless wonders, Trader Joe proximity deficit, extended Wrestle-Chats (tm), insidious musical beds, intercepted segways, Parker shills for Paramount Plus (suspected paid placement), boundless Bond chats, sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!

  • JFS103: The Great Buddha Arrival (2018)

The boys are back with the first episode of the New Year!

First, Sean and Parker list their Top 5 First-Time watches of 2025 (that aren't JFD/S movies or 2025 movies).

Then they discuss The Great Buddha Arrival from 2018 directed by Hiroto Yokokawa. The movie is a remake of (and sequel to) a 1934 lost kaiju movie. In it, a filmmaker tries to discover the truth about a film that shows a real-life statue of Buddha getting up and walking through town. While doing so, history seems to repeat. The film also stars many faces from past Godzilla and Gamera movies.

All this plus chit chat, silliness and so much more.

  • JFD694: A Muppet Family Christmas, Siskel & Ebert's 1990 Holiday Video Gift Guide, Batman Returns
Junk Food Dinner returns for our annual holiday celebration and this year we're feeling particularly nostalgic!
Up first, The Muppets gang crashes at Fozzy's mom's house for the holidays and they're bringing all their friends, even the Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock crew, in the 1987 TV special A Muppet Family Christmas.
Then, we revisit one of Sean's favorite holiday traditions; we see what movies and electronics film critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert were recommending folks pick up in the Siskel and Ebert's 1990 Holiday Video Gift Guide!
And finally, in the summer of 1992, one of biggest films was the blockbuster sequel Batman Returns. Tim Burton and Michael Keaton returned but this time Batman squares off against The Penguin (played by Danny DeVito) and Catwoman (played by Michelle Pfeiffer). But is it a Christmas movie? You bet your Batmobile it is!
All this plus holiday cheer from our buddy Peter, tributes to some fallen heroes, Sean's epic new video mix tape and much more!

  • JFS102: Wise Blood (1979)

Our adventures in the semi-urban 1970s American South continue with our look at Wise Blood, John Huston's 1979 adaptation of Flannery O'Connor's novel starring Brad Dourif as an anti-Christian street preacher rebelling against the established street-preacher scene in Macon, Georgia (lead by Harry Dean Stanton). Or at least, maybe?

Also! We chat about every movie coming out in January of 2026!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus Parker breaking down his secret irony-to-earnest appreciation ratio for Madea movies, Paul Dano's worst week ever, Netflix presents Hollywood Armageddon, the true motives of die-hard repertory cinemagoers, surprising erotic thrillers in non-erotic thriller franchises, real doll wishes granted, a brand-spankin' new caller on the junkmail line, random wikipedia citations from two men who've yet to donate to the wikimedia foundation, adopted apes on vacation, sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!

  • JFD693: Deathstalker (2025), Scarecrow in a Garden of Cucumbers, F/X
Gobble, gobble, Junkies! JFD returns to close out November with a cinematic feast of cult delights!
Up first, Steven Kostanski the director who brought us such JFD classics as Frankie Freako, Psycho Goreman and Father's Day gives us his take on the 80's sword and sandals staple Deathstalker from 2025. With the violence and practical effects turned up to 11 and featuring Daniel Bernhardt in the titular role and Patton Oswalt providing the voice of his mystical sidekick, can this reboot live up to the original?
Next, Andy Warhol scenester Holly Woodlawn stars in the wacky musical comedy Scarecrow in a Garden of Cucumbers from 1972. The film, which has been unavailable for decades and just recently got restored and released by AGFA, chronicles the misadventures of a young woman looking for fame in love on the mean streets of New York City.
Finally, a professional special effects artist (Bryan Brown) is recruited by the US Department of Justice to stage a fake assassination of a prominent mob figure in the 1986 thriller F/X. The flick also stars many other recognizable character actors such as Brian Dennehy, Cliff De Young, Jerry Orbach and Tom Noonan.
All this plus Thanksgiving traditions, what balloons the boys are excited for at the parade this year, adventures in TV land, hot releases for Black Friday, cartoons on blu-ray and so much more!

  • JFS100: Body Double (1984)

    It's a celebration!

Parker and Sean celebrate 100 episodes of Junk Food Supper by doing an audio commentary for a beloved classic -- Brian De Palma's "Body Double" from 1984. Grab your VHS tape or find it on streaming and cue it up with this episode to feel like you're watching the movie with Sean and Parker in the room with you! Or don't do that and just listen to it as-is. It'll actually probably make sense that way, too. Or just listen to it while playing Elden Ring or something.

  • JFS099: On Cinema at the Cinema (S1/S2) (2012/2013)

Our adventures in film review webcasts continue with our look at On Cinema at the Cinema, Seasons 1 and 2 (from 2012-13)! It's a comedic riff on Siskel and Ebert from Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington. But will Parker Bowman, noted Tim skeptic, give it five bags of popcorn? Or only four?

Also! We chat about the good/bad/ugly movies that Tim and Gregg reviewed over a decade ago!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus Parker's Survival Status vs his Thriving Rate, faintly sweet memories of a sticker (puffed), struggles to sleep while the rooster crows, Sean Byron's patented Star Trek Chats segment, the amazing directorial career of the director of the sequel to RZA's Man with the Iron Fists movie, sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!

  • JFS098: Bugonia (2025)
Your boys are back with a thrilling new movie this week!

But first, Sean and Parker discuss the Dodgers' World Series win, Parker's relaxing boat ride to Mexico, delicious LA delicacies, Halloween and so much more. Then it's wading through a lake of shit in the December Movie Preview.

Then, they review the new movie by one of Sean's favorite directors and a director that Parker knows almost nothing about. It's Yorgos Lanthimos' "Bugonia," starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons -- and almost no one else! The movie deals with kidnappings, conspiracy theories, and possible aliens -- or does it? We'll spoil it so beware.

All this plus voicemails, chit chat and so much more!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus Halloween plans, skintight red bodysuit devils vs fully nude red bodypainted devils, buttplugs on the high seas, the revenge of tennie wetness, exactly one perfectly timed "oh" drop (and several others timed less perfectly), an on-air reveal of Parker's planned costume this year, The Manic Panic Solution, all of Ed Gein's crazy nonsense, sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!
