  • JFS096: Wacko (1982)

Your boys are back this week with some Schlocktober spookiness.

First up, Sean and Parker discusswhat they've been up and if they have seen Army of Darkness. After that, it's a November Movie Preview. And guess what? It sucks. The guys discuss The Running Man, a new Noah Baumbach movie? A predator movie, Osgood Perkins and some other stuff!

After that, it's a review of "Wacko" from 1982. It's a proto-"Scary Movie" parody of early slasher tropes and the work of Hitchock and De Palma. It's directed by Greydon Clark of "Joysticks" fame and stars heavy hitters like Joe Don Baker, George Kennedy, EG Daily, Sonny Carl Davis and Andrew Dice Clay!

  • JFS095: Death Valley (1982)

Our adventures in the American Southwest continue as we kick off Schlocktober, the spookiest of months, with our look at Death Valley, the underseen 1982 semi-slasher featuring a bevy of semi-famous familiar faces!

Also! Parker Bowman's back from Kevin's wedding in Cinci and has stories to tell!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus Saudi Arabian Prince Rocky Johnson fails at the box office, old man Cena stars in HBO's The Pacemaker, Bowman regales us with tales of horror and romance from the dark Christian heartland of the American midwest, a (sadly incomplete) update on the Moss family tax filing status, does Kevin's dad make an appearance? (answer: yes), things people have always said, whether or not you should get cheese on a burger (answer: yes), what exactly constitutes a new tattoo versus an expansion of an existing one? (answer: listen and find out), important baseball updates, extensive One Battle After Another coverage, too much music for a supper episode, sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!

  • JFD691: Spinal Tap, How to Survive the 70s and Maybe Even Bump Into Happiness, Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman (1993)
This month, the JFD gang pays tribute to Christopher Guest with a trio of flicks that feature some level of his involvement.

Up first! We were shocked to discover our baby boy Bowman hadn't seen 1984's Spinal Tap, but now he has. Did he like it, though?

Next up! We stretch the definition of "involvement" with Mary Tyler Moore's television variety special called How to Survive the 70s and Maybe Even Bump Into Happiness, (from 1978). He's sort of in it, but barely.

Finally! Of course, it's 1993's Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman, because he directed it, and that's the only movie he directed that we've heard of.

All this plus a traumatic treat-based trick, a cinci cult film screening update, a juggalo gathering update, fourth dimension theatrical exhibitions, the smells of vienna austria, an official update on Kevin's all-important filing status, is free speech overrated?, nerd news and even more!

  • JFS094: Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995)

Your boys are back with some spooky almost-Schlocktober fun!

There's an absolutely massive October movie preview with a few of our favorite film makers and a lot of weird nonsense on streaming services. We also talk about "The Long Walk" and some other stuff.

Then we finally discuss "Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight" from 1995. The Ernest Dickerson movie brought the Crypt Keeper to the big screen. In it, Billy Zane from Twin Peaks does battle with William Sadler from Freaked over the fate of the universe. Also, demons and Dick Miller are involved.

  • JFS093: Cat City (1986)

Our adventures with futuristic Eastern European cartoon felines continue with our look at the overlooked Cat City, the beloved (in Hungary) classic from 1986. Is this musical animal adventure any more entertaining than the oft-discussed Hugo the Hippo? We'll determine it once and for all. Additionally: the match-up of a life-time: Audio Tracks versus Video Tracks - which are more important to an enjoyable viewing experience?

Also! We do one of those famous Good/Bad/Weird segments: but with cinematic cats!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus whether or not calling Kevin's buttocks is a good idea, is Little Jimmy talking about Billy again?, the latest in Japanimation news, the Hamilton report, the 90210 recap, yet another longing reference to the heyday of Scholastic Book Fairs, sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!

  • JFS092: The Toxic Avenger (2025)

Sean and Parker are back with a big episode. First up, Parker goes through a rollercoaster of emotion as he ages into obscurity and then resurrects like a phoenix. Sean hasn't been up to much, though.

Then the guys do a Last 10 Movies Canonical Rankings of, well, the last 10 movies reviewed on the show.

Then they're joined by a mystery guest to discuss Macon Blair's 2025 "Toxic Avenger" remake. It's a reinvention of the world of Tromaville. Is it a success or do the guys dump it into toxic waste and forget about it? Find out! Oh, also beware, we're spoiling much of it.

  • JFD690: Vixen, Oh! Heavenly Dog, Assault of the Party Nerds
Junk Food Dinner returns with the historic episode 690! To celebrate, we're looking at the first X-rated movie, a horny dog movie and a trashy party comedy!
Up first, iconic sleaze director Russ Meyer makes history with the first movie given an X rating by the MPAA (before NC-17 was a thing) with a story about a racist woman, staying in the Canadian wilderness and exploring multiple sexual taboos in Vixen from 1968.
Next, Chevy Chase plays an American private eye in London who is killed but returns to Earth as a dog (played by Benji) in order to solve his own murder with the help of his love interest Jane Seymour in Oh! Heavenly Dog from 1980.
And finally, a group of college losers attempt to throw an ultimate party in order to save their frat and get even with the jocks who ridicule them in 1989's Assault of the Party Nerds!
All this plus TV chat, Kevin's adventures at the movies, the Deathstalker reboot, the Toxic Avenger reboot, a rundown of the latest anime releases and so much more!

  • JFS091: Under the Blossoming Cherry Trees (1975)

Our adventures with ancient Japanese woodsmen continue with our look at the overlooked Under the Blossoming Cherry Trees, from 1975. Is this Masahiro Shinoda movie about a decapitation-mad husband and wife in ancient Japan worthy of a wikipedia page? Then why doesn't it have one yet?

Also! We run down all over the movies coming out in September 2025!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus what was the best Mr. Show sketch of all time?, why Illeana Douglas refused to direct Bob Odenkirk in the new-in-theatres film "Nobody 2", Shameful Night Live, getting on the Spinal Tap tip, Bowman's still watching Dream On, official domestic box office predictions for the opening weekend of the new Toxic Avenger movie (Sean: $9Mil, Parker: $7Mil), sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!

  • JFS090: As the Gods Will (2014)

It's not exactly a Niku Daruma, but it's close!

Sean and Parker return to discuss some weird things this week. First, it's hate-watching Bill Maher and youtubers and Parker went to see "Weapons." After that, Sean introduces a new game show. Is it "Mike" or "Psych" as Parker is quizzed on how well he knows everyone's favorite Japanese director, Rikishi Mike.

Then, the guys discuss the less successful director, Takashi Miike, and his 2014 film, "As the Gods Will." The movie, based on a manga, as is pretty common, features a violent daruma doll, bored gods and a very violent day at school.
