  • JFS089: The Fantastic Magic Baby (1975)

Our adventures with 7th-century Buddhist monks of the Far East continue with our look at the overlooked The Fantastic Magic Baby, from 1975. Is this Shaw Bros kung-fu flick the weirdest adaptation of Journey to the West we've seen so far? Probably. We haven't seen that many.

Also! We chat about a few other good, bad and weird fairy-tale flicks!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus is Toxic Avenger a super hero or just some woke BS?, old Two-Times Bowman at the Multiplex (in this case the multiple is 2), a new golden age of cinema, scheming in Phoenicia, mathematical filmographic techniques, SummerSlam(e), race-bent Robert De Niro, a very consensual opening segment, the (implied) promise of Tank Girl (the motion picture, not the comic-book), the feasability of viewing a mere 13-episode television series run, sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!

  • JFS088: Cyclone (1978)

Parker and Sean are back this week with some wild ass shit.

Fist up, Hulk Hogan is dead! He died. Then Sean adds some things to his watchlist. Parker goes to a horror convention and sees Fantastic Four. And then! The August movie preview with a surprising amount of interesting things.

Then, the guys review Rene Cardona Jr's "Cyclone" from 1978. Hugo Stiglitz and an all-star cast get caught in bad Mexican weather and are adrift at sea in the aftermath. Hunted by sharks, low on water and getting an itch for cannibalism -- who will survive? We'll spoil it so watch it first if you want.

All this plus so much more.

Then, Charles Bronson is back to take out the drug pushers who are killing our kids in Death Wish 4: The Crackdown!
And finally, a group of kids looking to party and a female punk band run afoul of an undead killer in an abandoned hospital in Doom Asylum!

Your guys are back with another wacky one this week.

First, the guys talk about their weeks and all that but they figure it out: What was the greatest Hanna-Barbera cartoon of all time? The answer may surprise you!

Then, the guys talk about the Scooby-Doo live action flick from 2002. It was written by James Gunn of "Superman" and directed by Raja Gosnell ... who also did some movies. Matthew Lillard from Twin Peaks, Buffy and Mr. Bean star in the movie that brings the Mystery Inc. gang to real life.

  • JFD688: Redneck Miller, The Private Eyes, Do or Die
JFD is back to heat up your summer with three scorching hot flicks that prove crime doesn't pay!

Up first, we take a look at a drive-in exploitation flick that sat dormant for several decades before being revived recently with a 4K scan; Redneck Miller from 1976 about a radio DJ who finds himself in hot water with some local gangsters.
Then, Tim Conway and Don Knotts are a pair of bumbling investigators in a spooky old house in 1980's The Private Eyes.
Finally, we examine another entry in the Andy Sidaris film library, Do or Die from 1991 starring Pat Morita, Erik Estrada and his regular bevy of buxom bombshells.
All this plus DEVO chat, Dr. Demento retires, a new Toxic Avenger trailer drops and we discuss our summer plans.

  • JFS084: Camp Fear (1991)

Your boys are back amid trying times!

Sean discusses the political mood in LA and Parker has thoughts on a TV show that he feels invented the modern Youtube aesthetic. Then it's time for a July movie preview. Summer season is in full swing as we discuss Jurassic Park, Superman, the Fantastic Four and Tyler Perry's Madea!

Next, we discuss a strange slasher movie where a group of students trek up a mountain looking for ancient artifacts and instead find a cult of millenium-worshipping druids, metal bikers and mysterious natives. It "stars" Michelle Bauer and George "Buck" Flower, among other JFD faves.

All this plus voicemails, goofy stuff, a jokey intro, Parker's shaky desk and the new hottest drop of 2025.

  • JFS083: Flareup (1969)

Our adventures through 1960's Las Vegas continue, with our look at the potentially proto-slasher-y Flareup (1969), starring Raquel Welch as a Las Vegas stripper on the run from a murderous psychopath with a weird haircut. Now featuring multiple go-go dancer bars with live house bands!

Also! We chat about Parker's adventures in Los Angeles this weekend!

  • JFS082: Frenzy (1972)

Our adventures through 1970's England continue, with our look at the proto-slasher classic Frenzy (1972), directed by noted ballet skeptic Alfred Hitchcock! Can this movie possibly be even more crucial in the development of De Palma than Psycho? We will tell you for certain, once and for all (or probably just talk around it).

Also! We chat about the past ten movies we reviewed and how much we liked 'em or thought they stunk!

So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus the paltry numbers of Junk Food Dinner (and when they might be surpassed), little tidbits of Monsterpalooza action from your on-the-scene reporter, the city of Pasadena tries to murder Sean (again), California's Central Valley fungal contaminants, is grief a played out metaphorical subject basis?, we rank the last ten movies we reviewed in our official canonical ranking segment, can we resist the temptation to talk about Sinners again?, cheeky fingerblasting, sneezes, blank stares, gleeks and so much more!!
