Alan has lived through most of this history and describes it from a first hand perspective, with some great feedback from Liz on the new magic shoe development in today's market. Nestor gives his input on minimalist shoes and customization.

Runners have an emotional relationship with their shoes and this book introduces us to all the pioneers, researchers, and companies, who made this true and continue to do so.

A series of famous runners also present their favorite shoes. We are left in no doubt as to what Liz's favorite shoe is!
