How did Jesus engage with the politics of His day? Scot suggests we must start with what Jesus has to say about Kingdom. When we understand how Jesus invites His followers into participating in His Kingdom, then we will be able to let Jesus speak into how His followers are to engage with the world. Scot will show how the local church stands at the center for how Jesus is leading the Kingdom to liberate the world.

  • Recovering from Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (Conversation with Aimee Byrd) - KR 156

Do men and women benefit equally from God's word? Are they equally responsible in sharpening one another in the faith and passing it down to the next generation? While radical feminists claim that the Bible is a hopelessly patriarchal construction by powerful men that oppresses women, evangelical churches simply reinforce this teaching when we constantly separate men and women, customizing women's resources and studies according to a culturally based understanding of roles. Do we need men's Bibles and women's Bibles, or can the one, holy Bible guide us all? Is the Bible, God's word, so male-centered and authored that women need to create their own resources to relate to it? No! And in it, we also learn from women. Women play an active role as witnesses to the faith, passing it on to the new generations.

  • Race and the Kingdom (Coversation with Derwin Gray - Rebroadcast) - KR 23
Racial tension is at a high point.
The embodiment of the Kingdom found in the New Testament and lived out through the Church was to be a vision of unity and diversity. The Church in America, unfortunately, has remained one of the most segregated organizations instead of being a vision for unity and diversity. Pastor Derwin Gray and Transformation Church is a shining light of how the Church can be the type of diverse community it was intended to be.
Hear about Pastor Derwin’s journey of planting Transformation Church, the challenges they faced from being a multiethnic church, and steps any church can take to become a richer expression of the diverse Kingdom of God.
