What are your thoughts about applying a lash that has a width of .20? How about applying lashes that actually tickle the forehead of the client? When you see photos of clients with really big lashes, do you gasp and wonder how much damage those lashes must be causing? Every once in a while, I'll see a post where someone concerned about lash health will make a statement that anyone who uses really long lashes or .20 wide lashes is damaging their client's lashes. Today we want to challenge that statement...in a loving and kind way, hopefully. We never want to cast shade on anyone who is trying to protect our industry, but we also don't want to get people all worked up about things that maybe aren't such a big deal. Today Tussanee shares why you don't really need to worry about lash damage. Lately, we have gotten a lot of lash artists asking us if it's safe to wear contacts while getting lashes.It's a good question, and we can see why it seems dangerous. A couple of lash artists told us about a story of a person who was wearing contacts, and the lash adhesive caused the contacts to do something odd that led to the person going blind. Sounds crazy I know...but is it something we need to be concerned about? One thing I don't see a lot of people talking about in our industry is budgeting. I see a lot of people saying you "should raise your prices" and while that is a nice idea, that can be bad advice if you are not fully booked and still trying to build a business.That said, something all of us can do to help us have more profits is get better at managing the money we are bringing in. In today's babycast, we discuss two questions that were sent to us by our listeners.First, we answer the question: can diffusers (and candles) that are used in salons affect retention? Second, we discuss a new solution for the lash allergy that we recently heard about. Basically, a lash artist uses "Flownase" on their client's lashes, and she claims it keeps the allergy at bay.
