Erik Johnson likes to name his horses after his teammates. Kyle and I throw out a couple possible names for any future Johnson pony.

Val Nichushkin gets his season grade.

Since this is the dead part of the off-season I'll be discussing some things outside of the hockey world, mostly movies or music. Today it is a combination of the two. HBO's new documentary on the Woodstock '99 Music Festival and the disaster that is became. Tune in and subscribe!

Joe Sakic wants to be a team of consistency and that includes keeping his roster in tact. So it was a little puzzling to let go of guys like PE Bellemare who signed for the same amount the Avs brought Darren Helm in for. They also could have kept Brandon Saad around who took a pay cut to go to St. Louis.

I also take a look at the Avalanche free agents next season because there are a handful of them. You think this team looks different now, wait until next year. Hit that subscribe button and enjoy!

Well that was fun! What a first day of free agency for the Colorado Avalanche. It all started when the surprising news that captain Gabriel Landeskog has signed on for eight years with the Avs was announced. I guess they weren't so far apart after all.

Then when free agency was officially under way, we heard goalie Philipp Grubauer was taking a deal with the Seattle Kraken. I guess the Avs and Grubs were further away than we thought.

So to make up for their lost starting goalie the Avalanche went ahead and acquired Darcy Kuemper in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes. A crazy first day. Tune in and subscribe!

We know things between the Avalanche and Gabriel Landeskog have been contentious and now it appears the same is happening for the Avs and Philipp Grubauer. The Avalanche seem to be closer with Grubauer than they do with Landeskog, so can a deal get done by Wednesday, before free agency begins?

Cale Makar gets his season grade from the people of Twitter. And it went pretty much as expected.

The Avalanche send qualifying offers to Tyson Jost, Connor Timmins and Denis Gilbert. What does that mean for them and for the Avs. Listen and subscribe!

One of the biggest items on the Avalanche to-do list has been checked. Superstar defensemen Cale Makar signed a new deal with the Avs. A six year $54 million dollar deal. Losing Makar was never on the table due to his RFA status and Colorado stating they would match any offer sheet. None came, and the Avs and Cale are both happy.

The Avs also brought on board four new prospects thanks to the NHL Draft, one of which was Cale's younger brother Taylor. I discuss the Avs top picks and what is expected of them. Tune in and subscribe!

Another Friday, another Greenroom! Avalanche fans join the show to discuss all things Avalanche including the Seattle Kraken selecting Joonas Donskoi. Was Matt Calvert calling it a career surprising? Finally we hand out Nathan MacKinnon's season grade, which is about as anticlimactic as the televised version of the expansion draft. Tune in and subscribe!
