Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche

Let us the being the off-season grades with fan favorite PE Bellemare! He might not put up the gaudy numbers, but he works his butt off and you have to respect players who play the way he does. We also look at Cale Makar and his RFA deal that could break the bank. Both sides seem to be on the same page of wanting a long term deal, so it could very well be in the realm of $80 million range.

Finally, the Seth Jones rumors will not die and they won't until he is eventually traded. Why the destination for him in Colorado makes a whole lot of sense. Tune in and subscribe!

With Erik Johnson likely waiving his NMC, the picture for who the Avs protect in the Seattle Kraken expansion draft does come a little more into focus. But there are still questions. Let's try to answer them! We also take a look at UFC Brandon Saad. Saad had a great first year in Denver. Do the Avs attempt to re-sign him and if they do, do they wait until after the Kraken draft, for how long and for how much?

Finally, a New Jersey Devils webpage offers up three deals all involving the Avs. I wouldn't make any of these deals but it's fun to discuss. Tune in and subscribe!

We aren't a week into the Colorado Avalanche offseason and there are already so many questions we will get answers to in the coming weeks. However, for now all we can do is speculate. One answer we might have though is one of the bigger ones. Erik Johnson might be willing to waive his no movement clause, which would immensely help the Avs when it comes to protecting players in the Seattle Kraken draft. Having that clause would have forced the Avs hand, since players who hold a no movement clause must be protected. This gives the Avs a leg up in protecting a D-Man they wouldn't have been able too.

Captain Gabriel Landeskog is due to an increase. But what will and what can the Avs afford due to another flat cap offseason. Landy will get an increase, but likely not as much as if were a normal offseason with an increased cap. Or, could the Avalanche take a risk and not protect Landy for the Kraken draft, with the expectation Seattle would not take him knowing Gabe will go right back to Denver?

So many questions, and that is what I am here to help with. Tune in and subscribe!

The narrative is becoming all to familiar. The Avalanche and the second round don't mix. Despite having a 2-0 series lead against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Colorado Avalanche for the first time all year lost four straight games. And losing four straight games in the playoffs will end your season. So many questions, and we will get to all of them. But for today, we lick our wounds. How did this happen? Tune in and subscribe.

So here we are. Everything the Avs have done to this point in the season comes down to this. Can they pull off what not many people think they can and win a game in Vegas to send the series back to Denver for a decisive Game 7? They have the talent, they have the skill. Now is the time to hold nothing back and prove why you were the favorites going into this season. Tune in and subscribe!

It's happening again. The Colorado Avalanche are looking at a second round exit after giving up a two goal, third period lead then losing it in OT 3-2 to Vegas. Colorado now needs to win in Vegas for Game 6 and if that happens they can come back to Denver for the winner take all Game 7. Tune in and subscribe!

The Colorado Avalanche are in must win mode. And to do that they need to play better that what they have shown the past three games. The good news is they have the friendly confines of Ball Arena where they Avs have been difficult to beat.

Will we find out the fate of the Nazem Kadri suspension Tuesday? At this point, who the heck knows. We thought news would come down on Monday. It never did. The longer this goes on the longer it will come to Kadri fulfilling the eight games anyway.

The Colorado Avalanche needed a rebound game. They didn't get it. Vegas continues to be the dominant team in the series and the Avs need to figure out how to get back on track quick. Things started well for the Avs, but that seems to be the problem. They haven't been able to sustain a full 60 minute game like we are used to. The good news is the Avs return home to try and get this series back in their favor. Tune in and subscribe!

The Colorado Avalanche were five minutes away from taking a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Vegas Golden Knights. But a bank shot of the back side of Philipp Grubauer and a redirected shot from the point seconds apart prevented that and Vegas is back in the series.

If it's Friday it's a Locker Room event! Avalanche fans join me live and today we discuss a wide range of topics. Did the NHL get it right on the Mark Scheifele four game suspension or does this slap in the face of Nazem Kadri? Vegas head coach Peter DeBoer had some questionable things to say about the Avs after Game 2. Does he believe what he says or is he just setting up his excuses? And Game 3 will be the first game of the series in a difficult Vegas arena. Predictions! Tune in and subscribe!
