There is some new, fresh news regarding the Washington Nationals sale. As you may know, the TV network for the Nationals, MASN, has been a thorn in the side of the Nats for over a decade now. The Angelos family oversees the operations of MASN, while they also own the Orioles, and they wanted no part of the Nats moving to D.C. back in the day. Ryan gets into the news as Leonsis seems to be moving into prime position to buy the Nationals from the Lerner family. But, what could be standing in their way? MASN is the answer to that question. Find out on today's show as to why that is. Also, there was news on former Nats SS Trea Turner on where he could be landing in free agency, and Ryan is upset about that. He rants at the end as to why the sky is falling for Nats fans seeing superstars join NL East rivals.

As the hot stove season is heating up QUICK, there is a familiar face who is a free agent, and Ryan wants him back with the Washington Nationals. That free agent is superstar shortstop, Trea Turner. The 29-year old is still one of the games brightest, and youngest stars in the game and can seamlessly do it ALL. He is someone we can rely on day in and day out to hold down the shortstop position for a LONG time. But first, Ryan explains why Turner was the one that got away over Juan Soto, Anthony Rendon, Max Scherzer, & Bryce Harper. He is someone who isn't a Scott Boras client, and we had an amplitude of opportunities to extend Trea Turner as a Washington Nationals. Then, with new ownership coming to town any week, or month, they will want to be aggressive in spending cash and giving the fans something to cheer for, and buy jerseys for. A question is raised since we have CJ Abrams already as the future shortstop for the team; what would we do with the young 22-year old shortstop Abrams if we signed Turner? Well, there's PLENTY of options for him. We get to all of that here.

As Bryce Harper and the 2022 Philadelphia Phillies fell short in Houston in the World Series, some Nationals fans rejoiced at the fact that Bryce Harper still has no World Series ring. But, there's also a portion of the fanbase that roots for Bryce Harper to be successful as if he is still a member of your favorite team, the Nationals. Ryan toes the line here and takes that debate head on, and even plays devils advocate for this Nats fan debate. So, why should Nationals fans still be upset at Bryce Harper? Also, there is a prediction from The Athletic's Britt Ghirlo that has some Nats fans excited, and eager for free agency which is closer by the minute. Maybe the Nationals will be spenders afterall...? Also, we have a date set in stone for the MLB Lottery Draft as we will find out who will have the #1 overall pick in the 2023 draft. Can the Nats find some luck and hit the lottery?

On today's Locked On Nationals, Ryan dives into hot stove season as the World Series has officially ended and free agency is just a few days away! As we know, the Nats have not been big spenders since after 2019, but could that change with a lot of freed up money? Ryan discusses this here, and he has his eyes set on former Nationals 1B/ DH Josh Bell. Is there a possibility he could be back in a curly-W uniform? He dives into that here. Then, he hashes it out again regarding the retool vs rebuild debate, and ultimately settles on that big debate amongst Nats fans. Also, the Houston Astros beat the Philadelphia Phillies in 6 games to win the World Series! Former Nationals skipper Dusty Baker finally got the job done, so he congratulates him & his efforts along the way. As for Bryce Harper, well, he got his participation trophy that he did deserve!

Ryan starts off today's show discussing how Dan Snyder and the Washington Commanders could affect the sale of the Washington Nationals as Snyder gets ready to sell the Commanders. The Washington Nationals have been a bad team for the last three seasons after winning the 2019 World Series. But, there is some light to be made for that, if you're into big time MLB prospects like Elijah Green, Brady House, James Wood, and others in the farm system. The Washington Nationals went from one of the worst farm systems in baseball, to being one of the jewels of the MLB within a single year, thanks to trading Juan Soto. What is there to be excited about with this farm system? Also, who are some prospects you don't hear about often that could have a major impact with the Nationals going forward? Ryan has that ALL for you here!

As Ryan has stated many times, we are heading into one of the biggest offseasons in the organization's history, and there is a TON to follow. We have Nationals ownership news to follow as that is expected to heat up in the next month or so, what are Ryan's thoughts on that process? The Nationals also have yet to spend much money since 2020, and there is a lot of money to go around currently compared to years past. Can we expect the Nationals and Mike Rizzo to dish out money like the old days? We all know the starting pitching has been a major issue with the Nats, where is the light at the end of the tunnel? Lastly, do the Nationals have a problem with developing talent at the major league level? All of that & more on todays Locked On Nationals!

As we saw Mike Rizzo and the Washington Nationals ship the two biggest stars out of town at the 2022 deadline, we also saw them stick with a lot of veteran players that could have been traded. What importance do they see these veteran players like Steve Cishek, Anibal Sanchez, Kyle Finnegan, as well as other veterans have to this team moving forward? Ryan answers those questions here, and gets into what he would have done at the trade deadline and plays a little game of GM for the Nationals. Also, Luke Voit was named a Silver Slugger finalist for the DH position! What kind of future does the 31 year old vet have for the rebuilding Washington Nationals? All of that and more on todays Locked On Nationals.

3 years ago today, your 2019 Washington Nationals climbed the mountain top and beat the Houston Astros in 7 games to win the World Series. Ryan looks back on that crazy year from the 19-31 start, to eventually winning it all in Houston on October 30th. Do you remember when the fans wanted Davey Martinez fired midway through the season after a disappointing first season and a half as manager? What was so special about that team? Ryan jumps into that all here. Also, how did the Nats fall this fall off in such a short period of time? It's rare to see the falloff like we had that year, but it also needed to happen to start that next championship run after losing a lot of the core, and not much help coming out of the farm system. So,, the main question answered for you today- What made the Nationals go from World Series champs, to bottom of the barrell in 2022?

Luis Garcia, the primary 2nd baseman for the Washington Nationals had a season that showed promise at the plate but also left us with a big time question mark as far as his defense goes. You look at some of his hottest stretches of the season and you see, and believe in the upside. But then, his low points left you with a lot of questions after having a lot of swings and misses. Ryan gets down to the bottom of Luis Garcia's season and what he can provide moving forward. Ryan also dives into one of ther surprises for the 2022 Washington Nationals, Ildemaro Vargas. The 31-year old third baseman provided stellar defense at the hot corner, but ultimately didn't prove too much when he was at the plate. Lastly, the World Series between the Houston Astros & the Philadelphia Phillies starts tonight! Which former Nats are you rooting for, Bryce Harper or Dusty Baker?
