The Red Sox completed their doubleheader sweep over the St. Louis Cardinals with an impressive 18-3 win in the night cap Sunday night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox picked up their 1st series sweep of the season and have won 5 in a row after losing 4 straight.  The Red Sox tallied season-high's in both runs (18), and hits (22) with 10 extra-base hits. (1 HR & 9 Doubles).

A Win for the Rookie: Hunter Dobbins was added to the roster for the doubleheader and notched the win in his Big League debut. The 25-year-old was staked to an early lead and gave up 2 earned runs over 5 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 5. Dobbins was an 8th Round pick out of Texas Tech in 2021. He was named as the Red Sox 2024 Minor League starting pitcher of the year & he was added to 40-man roster in offseason.

1st Walk-off of the Season: The Red Sox came from behind and won the first game of the doubleheader, 5-4 in 10 Innings. The Sox got 2 runs in the bottom of he 9th to even the game at 4-4, and Wilyer Abreu walked it off in the 10th with the game-winning hit (single) off the Green Monster.  It was also the Red Sox 1st 1-run victory of the season and 1st win of the season when trailing after 8 Innings.

What's On Tap?: The Sox open up a 4-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays Monday night at Fenway Park. The Blue Jays are coming off being swept over the weekend in a 3-game series against the New York Mets and are 5-5 through their 1st 10 games.  Vladimir Guerrero, Anthony Santander, and Bo Bichette have all gone without a Home Run over the 1st 10 games of the season. Richard Fitts is expected to get the start on the mound in the series opener.

The Red Sox celebrated their 114th Home Opener at Fenway Park with a 13-9 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday afternoon in Boston. The Red Sox have won 3 in a row for the 1st time this season and are 4-4 through their 1st 8 games. The Red Sox are now 64-50 all-time on Opening Day at Fenway Park. They’re 14-7 in their last 21 home openers (since 2005).

Boom Go the Sox: The Red Sox scored 5 runs in the 1st inning off of Cardinals starter Erick Fedde. Alex Bregman got the Red Sox on the board 1st for the 3rd straight game with an RBI Double. Trevor Story followed 2 batters later and hit a 3-run Home Run, his 2nd of the season. The very next hitter Wilyer Abreu hit his 3rd of the season to make it 5-0. It's the 1st time this season where Red Sox hitters went back-to-back with Home Runs.

The Red Sox finished up their season-opening road trip with a (8-4) win over the Baltimore Orioles Thursday afternoon at Camden Yards in Baltimore. The Sox hit 3 Home Runs in winning the finale and winning the series, 2 games to 1 over the O's in the 1st series of the season between the 2 AL East clubs. The Sox head home to Boston going 3-4 through Texas and Baltimore.

Home Run Ball: Alex Bregman gave the Red Sox an early 2-0 lead against Charlie Morton with a 2-run Home Run in the 1st Inning. It's his 1st with the Red Sox.  Kristian Campbell made it 4-1 with a 2-run shot of his own in the 2nd Inning. Like Bregman, Tristan Casas hit his 1st Home Run of the season and made it 7-3 with his own 2-run shot in the 7th Inning.

Houck's Outing: Tanner Houck made his 2nd start of the season and ended up going 4+ Innings against the Orioles. Houck exited after hitting Cedrick Mullins to lead off the Bottom of the 5th Inning. Houck was staked to an early 2-0 lead but gave a run back in the Bottom of the 1st on a leadoff Home Run from Mullins. He ended up allowing 3 earned runs (a pair of 2-out runs) on 5 hits and 2 walks. Houck struck out 6.  He's now allowed 3 Home Runs and all 3 have been solo shots.

Sox Pen: Zack Kelly was the 1st reliever out of the bullpen and he worked a scoreless 5th Inning behind Houck. Kelly got Adley Rutschman to hit into a Double Play and then go the next hitter, Jordan Westburg on a groundout. Justin Wilson gave up a 2-out Double in the 6th but left the runner stranded for a scoreless frame. Justin Slaten gave up 1 hit and struck out 1 in pitching a scoreless 7th.  Garrett Whitlock gave up a run in working the final 2 Innings.

The Red Sox ended a 4-game losing streak with a 3-0 shutout win over the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday night at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD. He gave up 4 singles, walked 1 and struck out 8.  Crochet gave up a leadoff single in the Bottom of the 8th but got an inning-ending double play to finish up his night.  Chapman gave up a walk but managed a scoreless 9th to preserve the shutout.

Devers Update: Rafael Devers was retired in his 1st 2 at-bats of the night but broke an 0-for-21 to start the season with a 2-out, RBI Double in the 5th to give the Red Sox a 3-0 lead.  Devers with his 1st hit & extra-base hit of the season & his 2nd RBI. Devers also reached with a single in the Top of the 8th.
