With the win, the Sox evened up the series at 1-1 with the finale coming Sunday afternoon.  The Sox will be looking to win a series after losing the opener for the 8th time this season on Sunday.  It's the Red Sox 23rd comeback win of the season. Aroldis Chapman worked a scoreless 9th Inning for his 18th Save.  Chapman struck out pinch-hitter Mookie Betts to end the game.

Sox at the Dish: The Sox went in front against Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers in the Bottom of the 2nd. Jarren Duran tied the game at 2-2 with a 2-run Triple, his 11th Triple of the season. Duran scored the go-ahead run on a Sac Fly from Abraham Toro.  Roman Anthony reached for the 3rd time against Kershaw and put the Red Sox up 4-2 with a 2-out, RBI Double that scored Alex Bregman from 1st-Base in the 5th Inning. Duran reached with a 2-out Triple in the 6th but was left stranded. Duran reached with a 2-out Double in the 8th and it's the 7th time this season where he had multiple extra-base hits in a game.

The Red Sox (55-50) returned home to Fenway for the 1st time since the all-star break and lost the series opener, 5-2, to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. The loss snapped the Red Sox 7-game home winning streak.  Boston's now 15-4 over their last 19 at Fenway. The Red Sox are now 2-7 thru their 1st 9 games after the break. Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a walk and 2 strikeouts for LA, ending his streak of 5 straight games with a Home Run.

Bello on the Bump: Brayan Bello allowed 3 earned runs over 5.1 innings in Friday night's series opener and ended up with the loss to drop to 6-5. The Red Sox (55-49) finished up their 6-game road trip out of the all-star break with a 9-8, 11-inning victory over the Phillies Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park.  The Sox finished 2-4 on their trip and had to win the finale in Chicago on Sunday and the finale in Philly Wednesday night to avoid series sweeps. Carlos Narvaez broke a 7-7 tie with a 2-run Home Run in the top of the 11th.  Brennan Bernardino got the final out in the 11th inning to close the door on the Phillies.  It's the 1st win in extra-innings (1-7) on the road for the Red Sox.

Going with Gio!: Lucas Giolito and the Red Sox trailed 3-0 3 hitters into Wednesday night's game. Kyle Schwarber hit a 2-run Home Run and Bryce Harper followed with a solo Home Run.  Nick Castellanos hit a solo Home Run in the 3rd inning to make it 4-0. Bryson Stott hit the 4th Home Run of the night off Giolito in the 4th and that made it 5-0.  Giolito gave up 5 earned runs over his 4 innings of work. He walked 1 and struck out 2 and took a no-decision with the Sox coming back to take the lead in the Top of the 5th. Giolito has worked 9.1 innings and allowed 9 earned runs in his 2 outings post all-star break.

Jesus Luzardo struck out 5 and threw 30 total pitches in retiring the 1st 9 hitters of the game. Rob Refsnyder led off the 4th with a walk to become the Red Sox 1st base runner. The Sox went in front in the 5th with 6 runs (all with 2 outs) against Luzardo. Refsnyder and Jarren Duran both walked with the bases loaded and then Romy Gonzalez broke out of an 0-for-20 slump with a Grand Slam that put the Sox up, 6-5. The Red Sox (54-49) never led at any point in losing, 4-1, to the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park Tuesday night in Philadelphia. The Sox have dropped the 1st 2 games of the series and are now 1-4 on their current 6-game road trip out of the all-star break. The Sox have dropped 2 straight series after winning 4 in a row prior to the break. Cristopher Sanchez gave up 1 run and struck out 12 in going the distance for the Phillies.

Give 'Em Fitts: Richard Fitts started in the middle game of the 3-game series Tuesday night in Philly.  Fitts, who had 14 full days off between outings, lasted 3.1 innings and he allowed 4 runs (all earned) on 6 Hits. He allowed an RBI Single in the 1st to Nick Castellanos and then Bryce Harper on an attempted steal of home was called safe at the plate on catcher's interference by Carlos Narvaez. Fitts then allowed solo Home Runs to Max Kepler and Kyle Schwarber in the 3rd. He left the game with a runner on ad the Sox trailing 4-1 in the 4th inning. He walked no one and struck out 4. Fitts ended up with the loss and falls to 1-4. The Sox are now 2-7 in his 1st 9 starts.

Sox at the Dish: The Red Sox didn't manage a single base runner over the 1st 3 innings against Cristopher Sanchez. Rob Refsnyder led off the 4th with a Home Run, his 6th of the season and 5th against a lefty pitcher. Roman Anthony went 0-for-4 with 4 strikeouts and is 1-for-9 with a Double and 8 strikeouts over the 1st 2 games of the series. Romy Gonzalez went 0-for-4 and struck out to end the game. Gonzalez and is hitless in his last 18 at-bats.

#'s of the DAY: The Sox have scored 10 runs and gone 3-for-27 (0-for-1 Tuesday night) with RISP since the break.  The Red Sox have struck out 28 times over the 1st 2 games of the series. The Sox are now 15-33 when tallying 10 or more strikeouts in a game this season. What's On Tap?: The Red Sox conclude their series against the Phillies Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park. Lucas Giolito is slated to make the start in the finale Wednesday night.  The Sox have a scheduled off day Thursday and open up a 3-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday night at Fenway. The Red Sox began a stretch of playing 12 of their 1st 15 on the road out of the All-Star Break last Friday.
