The Red Sox ended their 6-Game Road Trip with an 8-4 Loss to the Royals Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium. Royals went in front with a 5-run 4th Inning and never trailed again. Bobby Witt Jr was the hitting star for the Royals with 2 Home Runs and a 2-run Double.

On the Hill with Kutter: Kutter Crawford entered Wednesday's start having allowed 12 Home Runs in his previous 3 outings. Crawford gave up a solo Home Run to Bobby Witt Jr. in the Bottom of the 1st and that got the Royals on the board 1st. Crawford issued a leadoff walk and a 2-out walk in the 2nd and the Royals tacked on another run on a 2-out, RBI single from Michael Massey. Crawford took a 4-2 lead to the Bottom of the 4th, but he didn't make it out of the inning. Again, he allowed a leadoff walk and 2-out walk and the Royals made him pay. Crawford was chased from the game after giving up a 2-out, 2-run Double to Witt Jr. that gave Kansas City an 8-4 lead.

2-Out Magic From Romy- The Sox came to the plate down 2-0 against Cole Ragans and the Royals in the Top of the 3rd Inning and 1 swing of the bat changed that. Romy Gonzalez hit his 2nd Home Run of the series with a 2-out, 3-run Home Run and that put the Red Sox in front for the 1st time of the night.

His 1st for the Sox- Danny Jansen added to the Red Sox lead with a solo Home Run off of Ragans in the 4th inning. It's his 1st with the Red Sox and 7th on the season.

The Red Sox clinched their current series and their season series with the Royals by holding on and winning Tuesday night's game, 6-5, at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Sox scored 3 runs in the Top of the 6th inning and never trailed again. The Red Sox have taken the 1st 2 Games of the Series and are now 4-1 vs. the Royals with 1 more to go Wednesday night. Smith would score the go-ahead run from third on a wild pitch. He was called out initially, but the Red Sox challenged and the call at the plate was overturned.

Have a Series, Masa!: Masataka Yoshida hit his 6th Home Run of the season in the 3rd inning and that put the Red Sox up, 3-1, at the time. Yoshida came up with the bases loaded in the 6th and added to the Red Sox 1-run lead with a 2-out, 2-run single to make it 6-3. Yoshida with 2 hits & 3 RBIs Tuesday night and he has 6 Hits (3 2B & 1 HR) in the series.

Brayan's Night in KC: Brayan Bello gave up a 1st-Inning run Tuesday night and then settled in and worked 3 straight scoreless innings. Bello took the mound in the Bottom of the 5th with a 3-1 lead. He retired the 1st 2 hitters of the inning and then ran into trouble and did not make it out of the inning. Michael Massey touched him up for a a solo Home Run that made it a 1-run game. Bobby Witt Jr kept the inning alive with a Double and he scored the tying run on a Double from Vinny Pasquantino. Bello was lifted after he issued a walk to Salvador Perez. Bello ended up with his 4th straight no-decision.

Alex Cora went to Kenley Jansen and he struck out Maikel Garcia to end the inning and strand the potential tying run at 3rd-Base.

The Red Sox opened up their 3-Game Series in Kansas City with an 9-5 win over the Royals.  Red Sox collected 18 hits in improving to 3-1 in their current 6-Game Road Trip.  The Sox have won 4 of their last 5 games and are back to 9 games over .500 overall.     

----- 2-Out Magic:  Jarren Duran broke a 2-2 in the 6th Inning when he delivered a 2-out, 2-run Double off lefty reliever Angel Zerpa.  It was Duran's 62nd Extra-Base hit of the season.  He's now hit safely in 17 of 18 games.  

----- In A Pinch: Sox extended the lead with a 4-run 7th Inning.  The big blow in the inning came with Romy Gonzalez coming off the bench and hitting a 2-run Home Run.  It's the Red Sox 4th Pinch-Hit Home Run of the season and the 2nd from Gonzalez.  

----- Paxton's Night in KC: James Paxton made his 2nd start with the Sox since being acquired from the Dodgers.  Paxton gave up a run in the 3rd on an RBI single from Bobby Witt Jr.  The Royals tied the game up at 2-2 in the 4th inning.  Michael Massey reached with a 2-out Triple and scored on an infield hit. Paxton retired the side 1-2-3 in the 5th and finished up by working a 1-2-3 6th Inning.

----- On the Board 1st: Alex Cora loaded up the lineup with lefty hitters vs. Royals starter, Brady Singer (.284 Batting Average against vs. LHH) in the opener.  The 1st 3 hitters reached with hits in the 2nd inning off Singer and David Hamilton got the Red Sox on the board with the game's 1st run with an RBI Double that plated Dominic Smith.  The Red Sox got 1 more in the 2nd with Duran bringing in Nick Sogard from 3rd with a groundout.

----- Play of the Night: Ceddanne Rafaela made a terrific catch in the Bottom of the 5th Inning and robbed Maikel Garcia of extra bases.  Rafaela running away from the infield in centerfield made the catch as he jumped in the air, caught the ball with his glove side fully extended and then he hit the base of the wall.  

----- Hit Streak I: Rafael Devers extended his hit streak to 12 straight games with a single in the 5th inning. He was then erased on an inning-ending double play.  Devers singled and scored on a wild pitch in the 7th.  He has 8 multi-hit games during his current hit streak.   Devers has 23 hits during his current hit streak. (13 Extra-Base Hits---10 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR).     

----- Have A Night: Masa Tanaka entered Monday in an 0-for-16 slide.  He broke that hitless streak with a hit in his 1st at-bat.  He had 4 hits on the night with a pair of singles and 2 Doubles.

The Red Sox came from behind and beat the Rangers, 7-2, in the series finale Sunday afternoon in Arlington, TX. It was the Red Sox 25th come-back win of the season. Sox take 2 of 3 in Arlington and win their 2nd straight series after losing their 1st 3 Series out of the All-Star Break. 

----- Wilyer Goes Yard 2X!: Wilver Abreu tied the game at 2-2 with a solo Home Run in the 4th Inning. It was his 2nd of the Series. His 2nd of the game and 3rd of the Series came with 2 runners on in the 6th Inning and gave the Sox a 6-2 lead. The 2nd Home Run traveled 430' and was his 1st this season against a lefty pitcher. Abreu was caught by the cameras on the NESN telecast in the 4th Inning getting emotional and perhaps with tears in his eyes. Teammates did come over to check in on him and picked him up. NESN's Tom Caron posted on X that Abreu recieved sad news on a family member late Saturday night. 

----- Pivetta's Day in Arlington: Nick Pivetta gave up just 2 hits in his start on Sunday. They were both solo Home Runs over the 1st 2 Innings. Corey Seager got the Rangers on the board 1st with a solo Homer in the 1st inning. Josh Jung made it 2-0 with a solo shot in the 2nd. Pivetta got the 1st 2 outs in the 5th and was removed at 70 pitches. Cam Booser entered to face a lefty hitter and got the final out of the inning. 37's Final Line- 4.2 IP. 2 Hits. 2 R. 2 ER. 1 Walk. 5 Strikeouts. 2 Home Runs allowed. 

----- The Pen: Cam Booser got the final out in the 5th Inning in relief of Pivetta and Booser retired the side 1-2-3 in the 6th Inning. Zack Kelly gave up a Double, but nothing else in working a scoreless 7th Inning. Brennan Bernardino struck out the side in the 8th. Josh Winckowski worked a 1-2-3 9th to close out the win. 

----- Hit Streak I: Rafael Devers extended his hit streak to 11 in a leadoff single in the 6th inning. Devers came into score on Abreu's 3-R blast. UPDATE Devers has 20 Hits (13 Extra-Base Hits---10 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR) during his current hit streak. 

----- Hit Streak II: Ceddanne Rafaela went 0-for-4 to end his 9-Game Hit Streak. 

----- Jarren Keeps Going: Jarren Duran was back in the lineup and has started all 110 games this season. Duran went 3-for-4 with a Double, Home Run, 2 RBIs and 2 Stolen Bases in Sunday's finale. Duran's hit safely in 16 of 17. 

----- What's Next?: Red Sox continue their road trip and open up a 3-Game Series against the Royals in Kansas City Monday night. James Paxton goes against Brady Singer, who turned 28 on Sunday. Singer took the loss at Fenway Park on the Sunday before the All-Star Break. He gave up Home Runs to Rafael Devers and Dominic Smith and did not make it out of the 3rd Inning. ------ Locked On Red Sox POSTCAST Notes:

The Texas Rangers had 2 big innings against Tanner Houck and the Red Sox bullpen and evened up the Series at 1-1 with a 7-4 victory Saturday night in Arlington. Rob Refsnyder went 4-for-4 with a Double, 2 solo Home Runs, a walk, and 3 RBIs. Houck took the loss.

On the Board 1st: Rob Refsnyder smacked his 6th Home Run of the season with 1 out in the first inning and that got the Red Sox on the board 1st against Cody Bradford and the Rangers. Refsnyder made it 2-0 with his 2nd Home Run of the game and 7th of the year in the 4th Inning. It's his 1st career 2 Home Run game. Refsnyder has now hit 20 Home Runs at the Big-League level off of 18 different pitchers. Rafael Devers reached with a Double and scored on an RBI Single from Connor Wong to give the Red Sox a 3-0 lead.

Lead Disappeared: Rangers tied the game at 3-3 in the home 4th on a 2-out, 3-run Home Run from Jonah Heim. The next hitter Leody Taveras made it 4-3 with his 2nd Home Run of the Series.

Houck's Night in Arlington: Tanner Houck made the start Saturday night. Houck struck out the side in the 2nd inning. He allowed a walk and a single in the 3rd but came back and struck out Corey Seager and Marcus Semien to end the inning. Houck won the battle with Semien by striking him out on the 13th pitch of the at-bat. He gave up the lead by allowing the 2 Home Runs (both with 2 outs) in the 4th inning. Houck has allowed 8 Home Runs this season. Houck exited after allowing hits to the 1st 3 batters to start the 6th inning. He was charged with 2 of the 3 runs in the inning. The Red Sox opened up their 6-game road trip with an 11-6 win over the Texas Rangers Friday night in the series opener in Arlington, Texas. With the win, the Red Sox have won back-to-back games for the 1st time since the All-Star Break.
