What a strange year 2024 has been. We've had to make more  adjustments to the schedule this year than ever before. Regardless, Lodestone held 95 events over the course of 2024 -- everything from the Six-Day SFAUC Flat Range course to 3-hour LTAC Tuesdays. The 95th event was last Saturday's Freedom Day. It was a good, fun event to finish out the year.
In this episode, Jared and Micah go through the year, talk about some of their favorite moments, discuss some of the classes and events, and talk about what's in store in the next year.

Jared and Abby talk about the recent Pennsylvania Light Fighter Challenge IV. Each year we try to add new twists to the Challenge and this year was probably the best one so far. Participants were treated to some beautiful weather for their 9-mile ruck and their challenge stations. They talk about the different stations, participants' reactions to this year's Challenge and their excitement for what is coming for next year's PLFC V.

Recorded Sunday, Jared tries (a second time) to finish this episode. His first attempt just turned into a rant on the complete failure of FEMA and the current administration in providing real aid to those affected by Hurricane Helene. So, instead of ranting about the obvious, he tried to be a little more informative. 
During the recent Battle Rifle course, a student asked about the closing song used on the podcast. Jared explains the meaning behind "Mess of Pottage" and why he uses it in the podcast. He uses the recent hurricane as an example of why you need to prepare. He reviews the basics for a 72-hour kit. You need something you can grab and go.
