This episode will focus on kindness to ourselves and others. Self-kindness is treating ourselves with compassion, showing interest in ourselves and wholeheartedly accepting who we are. The outcome is increased happiness and a positive outlook. It boosts self-esteem and gives us a sense of belonging to ourselves. When we are kind to ourselves we show others how to treat us. Humilty empowers us to achieve self-mastery, transform our relationships and enrich our lives through selfless service. Humilty is a foundation ingredient of love. It is recognized as an essential quality for soulful leadership. This ingredient of love takes us out of ego and regarded as a quiet virtue. When we are humble, we are not puffed up, haughty, prideful and arrogant. We do not have an exaggerated feeling of self-importance. When we are humble we are open to listening and hearing others, seek inner guidance for direction, and fully accept ourselves realizing that we are capable of making errors for personal growth and can profit from life experiences.

We take note of our life's journey to achieve spiritual maturity. Being gentle with ourselves, we are compassionate and forgiving. We grow and learn through our relationships with others. Humilty bridges the gap in effective communication and interaction. It's subtle influence is transformative. We are not quick to respond nor argumentative and allow others to feel seen and heard. Selfless service is humility. Charitable service is an avenue of love with pure intentions and without motives for self-gain. We are accessible no matter what station in life serving for the greater good of humanity. This brings joy and happiness and uplfits ourselves and others. Love is not something new to learn. We are love at our core. Love is inherent and the essence of who we truly are. Due to deep conditioned fear and faulty beliefs, we forget our truth. Lift yourself by embodying the higher ideals of love to achieve self-mastery. Becoming the master of your self is the ultimate empowerment that requires awareness and practice. The mind is unruly, it will set you back if you are not alert. Each present moment is an opportunity to reclaim your power. The power that lies within frees you from external forces that diminish your capacity to love. Sustain the change with practice (mental alertness, monitoring our thoughts, feelings and actions). Then express yourself in a different way, which is self-reinforcing.

  • CONVERSATIONS ON LOVE: KNOWING AND UNDERSTANDING OURSELVES

Knowing ourselves and becoming who we are meant to be is an onging endeavor by overcoming and developing a healthy relationship with ourselves. The old adage, "To Thine Own Self Be True" is like looking at ourselves through our own mirror to authentically understand and accept ourselves; and acknowlege our strengths and capabilities for self discovery. As we endeavor on our life's journey, it is up to us to find our way home to ourselves.

Dr. Jean Marie explores aspects of ourselves including the shadow self (broken and wounded), the human self (personality self driven by ego and influenced by external sources) and divine love (the power and true self). She emphasizes that the more we separate from our true selves, the more our shadow selves emerge from the hidden, dark side. After many blows, we become fractured and wounded. Some relationships become transactional and conditional, based on our adherence to the established rules of measuring up. We operate from a fear-based mindset. Moving away from the center of divine love, we search for love externally, which seems endless.

Highlights from her article, Finding Yourself, previously published in Sivana East, include: Live from the heart, Fulfill your passion and potential, Learn from relationships and Attune to nature provides insights on become wholeheartedly centered and grounded.

The Love in Action practice includes 2 parts: Part 1 -Journal about yourself including qualities, what you like about yourself and things you would like to improve. Part 2 - Ask a trusted relative or friend to share what they admire about you and growth points for change. Compare the notes.

  • CONVERSATIONS ON LOVE WITH DR. JEAN MARIE

This episode highlights the Voice of Love that is always speaking to us. Do we listen? Do we pay attention? How can the voice of love guide us every moment of the day?

Dr. Jean Marie highlights that we may become so mired in negativity and unworthiness that we are unable to hear the whisper of love that is trying to guide us back home to our true self. Our love light becomes dim and obscued by our ears and the belief that we are unlovable and unworthy. We are not our authentic selves, and therefore, we are incapable of meaningful expressions of unconditional love. All of our experiences point us tward transforming our lives. I have learned that every experience, relationship, encounter, and self-sabbotaging act were part of my destiny to return me to love. This is symbolic of our innate need and desire to reconnect to our true self. When we are immersed in external conditions and life-challenging circumstances, we become anesthetized and disconnected rom our innate, life sustaining, spiritual resources and losse our way.

Whether we are down in the valley or mired in wilderness, if we focus and pay attention, we can get back on track. Our internal guidance system - the voice of love - is embedded in our psyches. It provides clarity and helps us keep the momentum going and to stay the course. The opportunity for self-discovery and self-renewal requires awareness. We pay attention to our thoughts, feelings and actions.

Dr. Jean Marie shares reflective questions for contemplation to inspire us to become our best selves. She further shares insights from her previously published article in Sivana East, 'How to Listen to the Inner Voice of Love' that includes: Giving yourself down time, Soulful engagement, Authentic Writing, Creative inspiration and Trust the source. She highlights the power of choice and to choose the heart of love. She closes with an excerpt on Choose.

The Love in Action practice is to focus on the ingredient in the Recipie of Love, Kindness. Journal on Kindness. During the day be aware of how you are treating yourself, whisper kind words to yourself and make time to do kind things for yourself.
