Most people try to find safety and love in relationships through attempting to control and change their external circumstances. What this means is that whenever their sense of love and safety is threatened, they go into fight or flight mode and try to change their partner’s actions, words, beliefs or ANYTHING they can to avoid their situation. This is a dynamic for struggle and disconnection.
What we want to shift is to bring awareness that everything external to ourselves is a reflection of our internal world; your relationship to yourself.
