Matt Carey’s Biography:
Matt is the Global EVP and CIO of The Home Depot, the $79 billion retailer providing home improvement and construction products and services. Among other responsibilities, Matt is responsible for all aspects of the information technology infrastructure including communication networks and retail systems across the company’s stores and support centers. In addition to his role at The Home Depot, Matt serves as a member of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee at Geeknet.
Before his tenure at The Home Depot, Matt served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at eBay, the American multinational ecommerce company. Among many key responsibilities, Matt was responsible for product development, site operations, electronic security and product planning for eBay Marketplaces.
Prior to joining eBay in 2006, Matt served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Walmart for 20 years.
Along with his current board position at the Geeknet, Matt has served as a member of the Audit Committee at TransUnion.
Matt holds an Associate’s Degree in Information Systems from Oklahoma State University.
