In this episode, I dive deep into the critical mindset shift necessary for true success. Drawing from my experience in scaling medical businesses and landing prestigious speaking engagements, I emphasize the power of preparation.
Preparation isn't just about planning; it's about dedication, attention to detail, and relentless practice. I share personal anecdotes, including my recent keynote experience, to illustrate how thorough preparation leads to pride, confidence, and enjoyment in any endeavor.
President Calvin Coolidge once said, "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence." I agree but would tweak it slightly: "Nothing in the world can take the place of preparation." This mindset shift is crucial, whether you're running a business or navigating life's challenges.
Join me as I discuss the three practical benefits of preparation: pride, confidence, and enjoyment. Learn why being labeled "talented" or "smart" can be an insult, and discover the true value of being a "monster at preparation."

Hey everyone, welcome to the Spinoso Podcast! Today, I want to dive into a topic that's often overlooked but incredibly important: the downside of being a good person in business. Now, don't get me wrong—I believe you should always strive to be a good person in life. You should absolutely have ethics and always do the right thing, as my friend Andy Frisella often says. But here's the catch: sometimes, what we think is the right thing in business is actually the wrong thing, and it can lead to a lot of frustration, stress, and grief.
I'm talking to that entrepreneur or business owner out there who's giving it their all—investing blood, sweat, and tears into creating an amazing workplace and opportunities for personal development and great compensation for their team. But here's the reality check: an ace and a joker is always a bad hand. It doesn't matter how hard you work or how pure your intentions are. If someone on your team chooses to be a loser, they're going to lose 100% of the time.
Having jokers in your business will absolutely kill your business and drain you. But let me be clear: the vast majority of people who have worked for me have been amazing. I love my team and would never badmouth them. Most likely, the people who work for you are great too, and they deserve your investment and loyalty. But the jokers? They don't. You aren't obligated to let them leverage your kindness against you.
You owe it to your team to have a no-joker policy. Cut them loose—gently but firmly. That's what good people do. It's actually the right thing to do, and it may be the wake-up call they need.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the show! In today's episode, we're going on a wild ride through my dad's journey of building a business under the ultimate pressure. It all started with my mom giving him an ultimatum: "You've got two years to make this business viable, or we're all moving back to Florida." No pressure, right? This wasn't just her saying she'd leave—he had to pack up and go too if he couldn't make it work. Talk about a wake-up call.
So, my dad tried working for someone else. Let me tell you, it was a shitty experience. From there, it was sink or swim. He had to focus on his own business, "Fix It Rite!" My mom, Natalie, backed him 100%. They faced lean times, but he hustled. He'd be out working till midnight, but no matter what, we ate dinner together as a family. Every night.
There's a lot to unpack here about family, business, and the crazy experiences along the way—like the time I almost got expelled in my senior year for doing "The Shocker" in front of the principal. It was a lesson in tough love and discipline, and how those lessons translate into business success.
Join me as I share more stories, lessons learned, and the philosophy that's driven me and my dad to where we are today. This episode is a raw, unfiltered look at the challenges and triumphs of building a business and keeping the family strong.

In this episode, I discuss a critical aspect for medical professionals and business owners: building a brand that's independent of your personal identity. I know it can be tough, especially if you've worked your entire life to earn your degree and establish your name. But here's the hard truth: if your brand is solely built around you, it becomes challenging to sell your business.
When you go to sell, you won't be there, and a buyer will hesitate to invest in a practice that relies entirely on your presence. The key is to replace yourself and create a system that can run independently. This involves building standard operating procedures (SOPs) for every position in your business and ensuring your business has a strong culture with core values.
I'll also dive into the importance of joining larger groups or expanding your practice to increase your business valuation. Learn why recurring revenue from evergreen services like weight loss, hormone therapy, and aesthetics can significantly enhance your clinic's attractiveness to buyers.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Spinoso podcast! In today's episode, I'm diving into a principle that's counterintuitive but crucial for business success. It's something I've experienced firsthand and seen work wonders: "Aim small, miss small." This concept isn't just about shooting accurately—it's a business strategy that can transform how you grow your company.
I'll share insights from my own journey, including how our crisis mode approach to cash flow, where we keep reinvesting rather than hoarding cash, has kept us agile and focused. This method might seem risky, but it works because it forces us to stay sharp and always push for growth.
But today's main focus is about precision in business. Have you ever seen the Mel Gibson movie, The Patriot? There's a powerful scene where Gibson's character teaches his sons to "aim small, miss small." This means focusing on a tiny, precise target so even if you miss, you still hit close to your mark. This principle is just as effective in business.
I can't stress enough the importance of focusing to grow. It's tempting to cast a wide net and diversify, but often this dilutes your efforts and effectiveness. When you focus on your core strengths and streamline your operations, you can achieve exceptional results.

Today's conversation takes an unexpected turn as we navigate the murky waters of social media, entrepreneurship, and personal development. We start by dissecting the paradox of modern social media culture, where the pressure to speak up often outweighs the authenticity of our words. As our guest, Steven Spinoso, my dad, eloquently puts it, "If you don't say something, someone else will put words in your mouth."
We then delve into the world of gurus, those loud voices on stage preaching about life when their own seems to be crumbling. Steven Spinoso shares his own journey of resilience, recounting the inception of his venture, "Fix It Rite!," born out of sheer necessity during times of financial struggle. His story paints a vivid picture of determination and grit, fueled not by a desire for wealth, but by a thirst for time—time to never miss out on life's precious moments again.
But here's the kicker: our guest embarked on this journey long before the era of YouTube tutorials and internet know-how. How did he do it? By diving headfirst into the world of machines, tearing them down and rebuilding them one piece at a time. His hands-on approach to learning speaks volumes about the power of perseverance and the invaluable lessons that come from getting your hands dirty.

In this episode, I delve into how implementing EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) transformed my businesses over the past couple of years. It's been a game-changer, shaping the culture and success of every company I run.
EOS provides a framework for building an amazing clinic: clear goals, a strong team, and checks and balances for productivity and happiness.
