Lysa Terkheurst says, where there is a lack of rest, there is an abundance of stress.

We’ve all felt the pangs of too little rest. 

We’ve felt the heaviness build when we’ve pushed too hard,

Done too much,

Without enough rest to restore us. 

So this morning’s meditation is a reminder that our level of rest is intricately connected to our level of stress. So use this as a tool anytime you feel your levels of stress rising, so you can invite in more rest, and find equilibrium.  

Settle in, dear one,

And know you’re not alone. 

We all could use more rest,

We all have felt too much stress. 

So surrender yourself to this practice today,

Forgetting about all of those details in your mind,

All those things weighing on you,

And instead…

Just rest here.

PAUSE…

Breathe them all out,

Those thoughts,

Those expectations,

That running list of things you have to do.

Breathe it out,

And let it go. 

PAUSE…

Let yourself rest here,

With your whole body,

Your whole mind,

Your whole spirit. 

Rest deeply.

PAUSE…

Feel yourself soften,

Unraveling from the stresses.

Opening up space inside,

And settling into restorative rest. 

LONG PAUSE...
