Welcome to the Mindful FIRE Podcast, where we explore living mindfully on the path to financial independence and beyond.
This guided meditation was recorded during our weekly community meditation on Fridays at 2:30 pm ET. We’d love for you to join us live for a short meditation and time to connect and ask questions. You can sign up at mindfulfire.org/meditate
Today’s meditation is in response to the recent horrible gun violence incidents in which so many innocent lives were cut short, because of the gun laws in this country. I am feeling sad, angry and frustrated as I imagine many others are feeling.
In this meditation I invite you to create space for you to connect with how you are feeling and how what’s going on in the world (and its so much) is feeling in your body, mind and heart.
Then we transition into some loving kindness, compassion practice.
We begin with ourselves and then offer our kindness to those in Uvalde, Buffalo, California, and Toronto.
Then we expand to all humans living in the United States, since in reality we are all affected by gun violence.
I hope you find it helpful. Subscribe for more meditations and inspiring interviews.

On today's episode, I'm joined by my friend, Anna Kozenkova.
Anna joined Google people operations six plus years ago and she's based in Prague Czech Republic. Previously, she worked for over 10 years in executive search consulting across Europe.
At Google in addition to her core role in recruitment, Anna takes an active part in facilitating Googler to Googler programs. Her passion is people development and creating sustained well-being and psychological safety in teams. For the last five years, she's been an active member of the global search inside yourself, facilitator cohort. She also offers career and life coaching at Google and externally.
In this conversation, Anna and I talk a lot about creating space in your life. Anna shares, how practicing mindfulness allows her to create more space in her life on a day-to-day basis and on a more macro level allows her to design a life that's aligned with her values and her passion for travel.
We explore how this idea of space applies to money as well and Anna shares her thoughts on money, financial independence, retire early, and how creating this space in your life gives you more choice about how you want to live your life. She also shares how she's applied these principles in our life to design her life around her number one, passion, which is travel.Anna is one of the most well-traveled people that I know having traveled to over 90 countries including a lot of places that most people don't even think to go like Antartica.
I really enjoyed this conversation with my friend, Anna Kozenkova and she really helped me reflect on my life and some of the things that are most important to me I hope that you enjoyed it as well.

If you're new to the mindful fire podcast and you haven't yet checked out the other parts of our 3-part series with Julia, you can find the full series at mindfulfire.org/julia.
On today's episode of the podcast, we dive into part three of our three part series with Julia Li. This series has followed Julia's journey of making a huge life in career change of leaving Google after six years to pivot into the field of sustainability.
What I really love about this series with Julia is just how relatable and actionable it is for me and for anyone who listens to it.
Many of us want to start this new year with more intention and alignment with our values and our purpose. These conversations with Julia provide not only inspiration, but also practices like journaling reflection and envisioning that we can use to get clear on what we really want and to begin walking down that path.
I hope you've enjoyed this series with Julia as much as I have and I would love to hear what it's inspired you to do in your own life.
You can reach out to me on Instagram @themindfulFIREpodcast and drop me a DM and let me know what you're planning for 2022. I really would love to hear it.
Today on part three of my conversation with Julia, we dive into the final chapter of her pivot out of Google and into the field of sustainability after taking three months off to rest and reflect.
In today's conversation, Julia shares her mindset and practical approach to identifying which area of sustainability she wanted to work in. She then shares how she went about identifying potential companies and ultimately connected with those companies to begin the interview process.
There's a ton of practical advice Julia shares that can be applied to any career moves you've been thinking about making in 2022.
And finally Julia shares with me how her entire relationship with money has changed over the last year since we recorded our first conversation together, before she left Google.
In that conversation, I recommended a book to Julia called The Simple Path To Wealth, which you've probably heard me talk about numerous times on the podcast. The Simple Path To Wealth by JL Collins is really my go-to recommendation for anyone looking to understand their money better or improve their financial situation and certainly to anyone looking to get on the path to financial independence.
Julia shares, how reading this book and another one called Your Money Or Your Life by Vicki Robin, changed her mindset and relationship with money. Her new insights about money. Really got me thinking about my own relationship with money and I think they'll do the same for you.
If you haven't already, I recommend listening to the full three part series with Julia which you can find at mindfulfire.org/Julia.

Hi and welcome to another episode of The Mindful FIRE Podcast. I'm Adam Coelho, the host of the mindful fire podcast, and I'm glad to welcome you for today's guided meditation.
Given the current situation with the new Omnicon variant and the incredible surge in cases, hospitalizations and deaths in the United States and all around the world, I thought it would be helpful and supportive to do a special guided meditation session for all of those suffering with COVID or for those who are worried about COVID as I am.
This meditation is dedicated to all of the people who are currently suffering, either with the disease itself or who are worried about someone with the disease or getting it themselves.
It's also dedicated to my good friend, Rishan, who inspired me to start the podcast.
May you be healthy and safe!

Welcome to the Mindful FIRE Podcast, where we explore living mindfully on the path to financial independence and beyond.
The holidays are a time of joy but they can also bring about stress and worry. This is especially true with the recent surge in covid cases due to the new Omicron variant. I hope you are staying healthy and safe during these challenging times.
Today's practice is an invitation to take a moment for yourself to release this stress and worry by resting in a simple awareness of your body sitting and breathing. I find that there is something really grounding and easeful about resting in the simplicity of feeling my body breathe in and out.
We finish today's practice with a simple loving kindness compassion practice in which we practice sending well wishes to ourselves, a loved one and all beings everywhere. This practice of sending and receiving compassion connects us with our inherent goodness and just feels nice.
I wish you and your family, health, safety and happiness during this holiday season and into the new year!
