Ahead of perhaps the biggest BKFC card in history, The Fighter vs. The Writer will be headlined by three of the fighters competing on Saturday including both main event athletes as Luke Rockhold and Mike Perry join the show.
Rockhold will fight for the first time since retiring but then securing his UFC release so he could pursue a career outside the octagon. He will now compete in bare-knuckle for the first time ever while taking on a BKFC veteran in Perry.
Rockhold will address his decision to return to action while also discussing his issues with the UFC and hopes that more athletes will stand up for themselves when it comes to money and opportunities.
Perry also joins the show to talk about the fight with Rockhold and his expectations clashing with a former UFC champion who has never fought bare-knuckle previously. Perry will also react to the recent news that Nate Diaz will fight Jake Paul in a boxing match as well as Diaz’s wild weekend filled with street fights in New Orleans.
Finally, Mendes joins the show to preview his fight with Eddie Alvarez and he’ll address if this will possibly be the final bout of his entire career. Mendes explains why he decided to come back in the first place and the conflicted feelings he’s had about continuing on past the matchup against Alvarez.
All this and more on the latest episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer!

Sergei Pavlovich destroyed Curtis Blaydes in the first round of their heavyweight main event battle in Las Vegas this past Saturday, which led to Pavlovich calling for a title shot against Jon Jones. While the fight could be interesting, it's unlikely to happen, but that doesn't mean Pavlovich can't get a title fight in his next appearance.
On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discuss what could be next for Pavlovich following his massive win at UFC Vegas 71, and explain why he probably won't be facing Jones anytime soon. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Bruno Silva following his first-round finish of Brad Tavares in the middleweight co-main event, along with fellow winners Iasmin Lucindo, Jeremiah Wells, Montel Jackson, and more following the promotion's latest card at the APEX.

With Charles Oliveira being scratched from his matchup with Beneil Dariush at UFC 288, is it too risky for the UFC to push that matchup back to UFC 289 on June 10 with Oliveira's injury, or should they pivot to a new fight between Dariush and Dustin Poirier instead?
On an all-new edition of Heck of a Morning, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck makes the case as to why the UFC should do whatever they can do have Poirier step in to face Dariush in June, and how this division is looking right now with plans to have Islam Makahchev defend his title in October. Additionally, listener topics include Max Holloway's win over Arnold Allen in the main event of UFC Kansas City, the stakes in Saturday's UFC Vegas 71 main event between Curtis Blaydes and Sergei Pavlovich, Song Yadong vs. Ricky Simon being moved to the UFC Vegas 72 headliner, the UFC 290 fight card as it stands, and more.
