Gregory Rodrigues is a legitimate contender at 185 pounds. On Saturday night, “Robocop” picked up the biggest win of his career, outlasting Anthony Hernandez in the main event of UFC Sacramento to win a unanimous decision. The win should vault Rodrigues up the middleweight rankings and put him fully in the title mix at 185 pounds. Meanwhile, “Fluffy” has now lost two in a row, and his future at middleweight seems uncertain. Following UFC Sacramento, MMA Fighting’s Jed Meshew and Alexander K. Lee discuss Robocop’s big win and what it means for the 185-pound division. They also break down some of the other big storylines from the card — including Reinier de Ridder’s successful UFC light heavyweight debut and Carli Judice’s emergence at flyweight — wax poetic on Cris Cyborg’s scare in PFL, answer viewer questions, and more. Islam Makhachev is still the UFC welterweight champion, but it was one of the toughest fights of his career as he hung on to defeat Ian Machado Garry in the main event of UFC 330. Since then, there has been a lot of discourse in the MMA community about Makhachev's performance, what it means now, and for his legacy — which seems to be a pretty loaded topic, On an all-new edition of Between the Links, The panel discusses what's next for Makhachev's record-setting win, everything it signifies, if it's Carlos Prates or Michael Morales, or somebody else next. Additionally, topics may include Mackenzie Dern's lopsided win over Gillian Robertson, Din Thomas publicly throwing Robertson under the bus and then apologizing, UFC Sacramento this weekend headlined by Anthony Hernandez vs. Gregory Rodrigues, PFL Tampa headlined by Cris Cyborg's final fight — or, that's how PFL has advertised it, RAF Cleveland, UFC3 33 getting big bouts announced, and much more.
